I joined CFU two days before the new management kicked in. The only thing that actually encouraged me to be there was the TIRS, as it was an interesting idea, and I have some like for crossovers involving the norm world and a fictional world.
The summary of TIRS is basically that humans are somehow transported to the Cars world, and fused with their vehicles, and as far as I could see, it was via accidents. There was also a mention of a storm, but I never had the time to look over the TIRS archives.
I would like to see TIRS restarted or reopened, but the problem is that I don't think there are many here that are actually interested to participate in TIRS, it was quite slow thread compared to the other threads then active, and here active. Slow threads I have no problem with, but it is the players I want to have aplenty.
Who is interested in being Trapped in Radiator Springs? And then, should it be restarted, something I favor, or simply pick up where it left off?

It should be restarted and have a new storyline. And if the original RPers would still like join up, that's fine. I'd still use my character, Delfina Thompson, and a few of my other characters, when I can bring them in.

I'd be interested in rebooting with Tori and another ExH character.

Okay, I think we have enough interested people for restarting the TIRS RP. The problem is, that I don't know how to begin it. I am not familiar with the main storyline in the old RP, nor do I have the creativity at the moment to figure out why humans-turned-cars pop up near Radiator Springs. We also need few normal cars to help guiding the ex-humans We cant have everyone in the RP yelling WTF?! all the time.

What if the ex-humans were already in the Cars World and had since then gotten used to being in their new bodies, courtesy of the normal cars that live there.
I've got a few normal cars that I can bring in that can help with that.

I can also bring in one. Been thinking of one Honda Accord, or an Evo 6. I support the idea that any kind of car can be American . Othervise it would be pain for me to find a good car to use, since I am using cars that I already know about, and we dont see many american cars around. If there is no way actually to return the ex-humans home, I would have to rethink the history on my ex-human :/ I had designed it with it in mind that all he would think about was to get back home, not ready to leave a motherless 16 years old daughter fatherless too.

Maybe the ex-humans can get pulled over to the Cars World in a StarGate kind of way. I'm not liking the weird thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms are not also making it for me. Accidents do though, giving them a car or any kind of vehicle to be fused to. Stargate (I hate the show actually, never able to watch the last disk of the first season of SG-1) gives them a straight option to get back home. "No wait, I dont like this, let's go back"
Ergh, I'm tired.

But what if the StarGate gets them there, but they're not able to get it to take them back, because after that it stopped working and it would be quite awhile before they got it working again. Maybe give them up to two weeks or so.

Then we have the problem of how to get a group of humans, who most likely have no relation to each other with different backgrounds and that, to enter some sort of gateway (not going to call it a stargate) at the same time. And when you use multiply gateways, we are faced with how people react differently. Whereas one would get curious and venture in, other would back away slowly and simply choose to ignore that there is a gateway in their back yard.
Sorry for being difficult. I am a perfectionist with a touch of jerk.

It would have to be something not obviously a "Gateway" with a blinking neon sign over it! I would suggest a look at something like L. Neil Smith's The Probability Broach, Frederick Pohl's The Coming of the Quantum Cats or Robert Heinlein's Number of the Beast for a few ideas. (Yes, I'm a literary SF wonk, but the way they pose their problems will stand up to logical rigor better than TV show offerings, and more substance for sustaining a plot once it gets going.)

And there's a number of books that I haven't read yet.
Note to self: Go visit the library. Or at least get them in eBook form. ^^;;;;

Well... we origionally started off with the Improbability Disk which is STILL in pieces. HOWEVER, it's been suggested in the begining of the RP that there was a copy of it and someone still has it. Maybe there's something in that.
Now as far as the weird thunderstorms go, in the begining of the RP, we really didn't have weird thunderstorms indicating when people got sent in. They were just there. For instance, Kam was sent right smack in the middle of Radiator Springs and wasn't brought in by a thunder storm. How she was sent there was her own doing by origionally hacking The Disk causing an anti-hacking device on the Disk to be activated thus causing these things to happen.
