Yes, Freda would probably be willing enough to bring Ariel through with her. Ariel would be a little bit younger than Melissa, I think. Right?
Joel and Aspasia are alright. I'm fine with them.

I figure it was eight years since "Treasure Hunt", so Ariel might be seven at the oldest, if Freda and Ben decided to get busy on a family quite soon after committing to each other. Joel might be on the borderline of "old enough", but Daisy would be a bit young to travel the gap between the worlds. I could see them staying with relatives in the meantime, but they might have sent letters and mouth-paintings to their mom which would be pretty poignant in the light of current events.

I'm kinda with the idea that ships pair for life once they meet and start families soon after, like some Earth animals do.
So, Ariel would be seven, but she would already be seaworthy and about to maneuver about on the water like her parents, like some baby animals when they're born (ex. baby horses standing up on their legs right after birth), but would have to stay close to them. If she were traveling with them, she would have to be buttoned onto either of her parents so that she wouldn't get lost.
I'm wondering how I'm gonna go about bringing them in, though. I haven't figured that out yet.

I've PM'd Elizar. She had set things up for an arrival at the Auckland airport, but we could switch over to the harbor if you'd rather have Delfina come over with Freda and company. Those are the main entry points that we use in the RP.

Okay, I'm a bit more accustomed to ships anyway.

No problem with arrival from sea. I guess it would be just minor edits to be done than to replay the short scene that we did.

Before I post anything, can anybody give me a rundown of what is currently going on and just how I'm going to bring my characters in. I know it's going to be ships, but just how are the ships going to arrive? How are they going to get to the humans' world?

Here's the current rundown: It has been two months since the first expedition arrived off of New Zealand, to the regret of some pirates who ran across their path. Since then, the combined group of humans, Carsversians and taurcats from the ice-age world have been laying the groundwork for establishment of diplomatic and trade relations in an area of the earth which fared better than others in the post-blowup era. They are being brought back and forth by Julian and Elena, the Amberites who are also establishing travel and trade links between the two dimensions as part of their own network.
They have been getting trouble from two sources in particular: A revived Caliphate, and renegade users of local origin. They have uncovered a Caliphate spy in the local security establishment, and also located Aron's ex-girlfriend, Jessica, whose relationship with Aron didn't end so well but she had survived a lot worse since the blowup, including capture and enslavement, which has left her with a daughter fathered by one of her captors - just don't ask her WHICH one. She has been working in the clerical staff of the harbor security unit, which has become of increasing importance in recent years. Her most frequent co-worker is Mairi TeKani, a young Irish/Maori woman with a penchant for smoking and being the beneficiary of very lucky breaks.
The boats and ships with the initial group - Capt. Colin Urqhart of the Royal Australian Navy (CV), Lt.- Cmdr. Rachel Lowes of the Royal New Zealand Navy (CV), Lt.- Cmdr Benjamin Stokes, USCG (CV), Casey Sullivan, of the New Zealand Coast Guard Association, and two USN subs who are scouting elsewhere at this time. They have just been joined by a fleet of Elco and Vosper tribals, the same lines from which the USN and RN recruited for service as torpedo boats and gunboats in WW2, but this bunch have been outfitted as missile boats. Along with this group came an Australian Armidale-class patrol boat and two larger Finnish Hamina-class missile boats, one of them the aforementioned 12-year-old with user potential.
On the aircraft front, here are the initial group: MCPO Marisa Yoland, a USN Seahawk, (Elizar's), Brett Seligmann, now a Command Master Sergeant and also a cousin to Marisa, representing the U.S. military of the CV, Bree LeVasseur, now a Captain, representing the USCG, Zoe Floyd-Gordon, of the gestalt group of the same surname which was founded by the Arrows that fled Canada in 1959. Zoe is a user and a shape-shifter, she appeared in the original SA RP and would know Delfina very well. They were joined not long after by Shayla, Misty, and a few other bush planes and helos.
Zoe helped to free another user, Babel, who was a slave of the Caliph. Babel, (Elizar's) is a seventeen-year-old girl with some psychological and health-related baggage to deal with, and a telepath. Marisa met Jeffrey, a young Westland Lynx helo who had come in with the second contingent, and they soon became an item, despite Marisa also having some hormonal issues that make regular social life amongst her kind a bit of an ordeal for her. Jeffrey's mother had the same problem, so he understands. However, Marisa's birth control failed and she is now pregant, with twins - though she doesn't know that part of it yet. They are now looking to get married by a local "celebrant", a cousin of Jessica's neighbor, but the biggest problem will be keeping it under wraps until the ceremony takes place, so it doesn't become a circus.
All this, however, has been temporarily put on hold after Bree's disappearance one night after she, Marisa, Laurie Wieseman and Babel delivered medicines to a village with a cholera outbreak, and they wake up the next morning to find Bree gone with no trace of her leaving in the usual way. As it turned out, she was abducted by magical means - turned into sort of a plasma and sucked into a tube - and then transformed into a human, sold as an "Icer" slave to an executive of a power development company as a tutor for his children. Spell-imposed constraints keep her from disclosing her actual identity.
The user, a Jaunter himself, figures that the mentality of a military-trained CV helo could do better than an actual human female at what he demands of her - protecting his estranged daughter who is married to this exec, and their family. The now-humanized Bree is accompanied into their household by another slave from the same dealer, in an isolated area of the French Alps not far from the Swiss border. So, what's the threat there? That's what we're still working out.
Did I miss anything, Elizar? Oh yes, the gentleman from an Icelandic community in the extreme south of NZ who has info on Babel's father, also a user, who has a "charming" gift, but literally.
Generally, Julian or Elena will run a group in at the Auckland Airport or just outside the harbor, depending on what they are. I'll let Julian bring your ships in this trip. Elena is bringing in some more aircraft. (Shale can be in this party)

Alright, this is what I wanted to know. And I do need help bringing my characters into an RP that's been long-running already. I also need to know what roles my characters will be playing. I kinda have a habit of making them the main characters when it probably isn't even called for in this RP. I don't want to end up making that mistake here.

OK... Delfina may find that 12-year-old, Annikki Virtanen, desperately in need of guidance when her user talents start to manifest. In addition to the jaunting potential (which requires a savant-like math ability, which she has), Annikki is also what user culture refers to as "double-barrelled" (two major talents), possessing animal empathy and communication, which could become a weapon in itself - imagine being able to command a swarm of insects or rats or a wolf pack at a distance!. She and her older brother Kalevi also have some family issues from the splitup of their parents, yet another unhappy legacy of arranged pairings for selective breeding purposes.
And, what would Delfina make of the presence of Aron's ex on the docks?
Freda and Nerisa might also become surrogate mother figures to Annikki. This being eight years after "Treasure Hunt", it's likely that Nerisa has received a promotion by now, perhaps to Lt.-Commander. Perhaps they would join the search for Bree, once Zoe has established the general direction and locality she might have been taken to, and Annikki has mastered enough of her jaunting ability to transport the group and save them weeks of travel.
Shale would be keen to search for his wife, and would definitely be in the same group. Perhaps he could go undercover as a trader from the Carsverse looking to set up business deals in the more stable parts of Europe. That's just a suggestion, though.

Delfina might be perplexed at first, then she'll start asking questions. And she'll probably might feel a bit threatened by Jessica's presence, though she'll probably might not show it as much, because she knows that she and Aron are already married and have children.
And she would probably become someone that Annikki can look up to and seek advice from (can't remember what that kind of person is called) as well as possibly a mother figure since she's basically been named godmother to a couple of other CV native children by their parents.
Freda would be pleased to seen as a mother figure by Annikki since she's a mother herself. She likes to have someone look up to her.
Nerisa would probably feel partially the same, but she'll want to be on the rescue mission for Bree. She's still single and hasn't found anyone that she can forge a life with yet.
Shale might not be the right guy to go undercover because there might be a possibility that he'll be discovered because if he sees Bree, he'll blow his cover. But, maybe Taranee, his younger sister, can be the one to go undercover.

Perhaps Shale can act as backup for his sister. How would they recognize her, though? They would have to take whatever DNA samples they had on hand and do a simulated "genetic translation" which is the simplest and safest form of third-party transformation, then go on the image they get back (like a police ID sketch)
And that word, I think, would be "mentor"

I made a window for you Ebony. If you got any more questions about what's going on and what to do, ask. Or you could just come in.
