I'll keep that in mind, Elizar. Perhaps Shale can act as backup for his sister. How would they recognize her, though? They would have to take whatever DNA samples they had on hand and do a simulated "genetic translation" which is the simplest and safest form of third-party transformation, then go on the image they get back (like a police ID sketch) And that word, I think, would be "mentor" Maybe she would also have certain physical features that Shale and Taranee would recognize, like her scent and her eye color. That's all I can come up with. Does Bree have any other distinguishing features? And mentor's the word I was looking for. Thanks.

Bree has an uncommon color dilution gene which affects her natural color. Nobody's ever seen it for years because she's been wearing Coast Guard livery, but her body is sort of a light irridescent champagne with darker points in a caramel shade, with some striping. Her humanized hair color will be caramel on top and lighter underneath, and it would show up glaringly if she got a layered cut. There may also be some scent cues that are unchanged. Her copper eyes (picture the copper eyes you see in some cats) would also stand out.

Okay, this has gone far enough and I'm getting sick of it. I've been sitting here just watching post after post for days and wondering when I'll ever get to rejoin the RP. But, I don't see any openings for me.
When will I get to have control of my characters again?

Eva went ahead and puppeted for you, and you gave her the permission as far as I know. We're just waiting until you get back. Shale's flying, Delfina is also with Lazaro, Aron and Julian heading to the helicopter museum. Just pop in and say some dialog from Shale or Delfina.
Nerisa is also at the run down dock, babysitting the one teen and teenette. Maybe the curiosity at least frightens a ship?

That doesn't help much. I still don't know the plot that well and don't know what I'm supposed to do with my characters because I don't know how they are to respond. And if my characters don't have a story to go with them, I can't RP them properly.
Look, all I'm asking is for a little help in that area. That's all.

Shale and Taranee and company are on route to the Helicopter Museum which has been maintained near Cardiff, a short flight away from Liverpool for a helo. They will set up their "front" and get leads there, I'd assume. One or two of the locals might be more cognizant and in on the charade. Nerisa is in Liverpool, with the Virtanen sibs and Shayla. The slaver who brought Bree into Liverpool the week before is presumably on his way to Iceland for fresh meat. After checking the records of incoming boats with Shayla's assistance, the ships can guess his most likely course and pursue him, and interrogate him. There are other humans and at least one forklift on board to help out with that. It would be reasonable to assume that Nerisa would be more disciplined, but the teens would be a bit wilder and eager to catch the perp. A "good cop/bad cop" scenario could be arranged here.
Here are some notes about the overall background of the world of the RP:
It takes place fifteen years after the original SA RP. The earth is in the recovery process after the post-blowup era, with at least the more southern portions getting back to climatic normals. Australia, New Zealand, the southermost parts of South America and Southern Africa came out the best. The north, however, took a hammer hit which exacted a ghastly toll on the population and infrastructure.
Even after the ash subsided, the effects of volcanic winter in the northern hemisphere, followed by disease and war over remaining resources, reduced the population by 80-90% in some areas. Most people outside of the "lucky" areas travel about by shank's mare, or a real one if they can afford it. In many places, slavery, feudalism and despotism have crawled back out from under their rocks. Much of the population of Iceland now lives under enslavement, and probably many others as well. Northern Europe is a patchwork of warlord kingdoms; Germany and France and the other Mediterranean nations are somewhat better off although political stability still remains elusive. The U.K. is still technically together, but the national government's political influence tends to wane outside London's city limits and the other cities in the country have become almost a law unto themselves. The Middle East and parts of central Asia are enclosed by a Caliphate which controls the remaining oil supplies in that area, and tries to sabotage or suppress any other energy-producing efforts elsewhere.
Russia, which had an extensive civil defense program, might have come out better than most up north, but nobody outside its borders is really sure. North America is pretty much gone, almost a dead zone, although there are perhaps a few million expatriates and migrants left over who are spread among the surviving nations and the U.S. territories in the Pacific that didn't get the brunt of the blowup. They will be trying to get back together and rebuild something, with the assistance of their counterparts in the CV.
Where the fleet came in:
In the early Austral spring (perhaps September) of 2023, Elena and Julian bring a combined expedition of CV natives, Ash Mountain denizens and taurcats into the harbor at Auckland, where they start building links with the locals and getting an idea of the lay of the land. Periodically, more ships and aircraft come in to shore up the defenses. Many of them are retirees, misfits and wildcat types who couldn't really fit into their own world any more, but might make it here. Some are users. Some are, like Bree, representing their respective nations in the CV. This is a unique situation, and it calls for people with military or similar experience, but who are also capable of diplomacy when required, and users who can make use of what energy this world has will have an edge as well. At this point in the RP, it has been two months since that first arrival, and they are fast establishing alliances and preparing to deal with people and powers who still insist on being a problem to their neighbors.

Well, if I am to be a part of this RP, since you invited me, you can't leave me in the dark about what's going on, where the characters are, and who is doing what. And conversations between characters get me stuck big time. How am I going to get them to respond? Really, I have no idea what to do.
Basically, what I want to know, is the description of the places, not just the names, where the characters are now at this moment. What's Liverpool like? What does the Helicopter Museum look like? I also need a visual reference or two to help me. Things like that.

OK, here is where everyone is. Shale, Taranee, Delfina - en route to the museum with Julian and Aron, in southeast of the UK, not far from Cardiff. They haven't touched down there just yet. The place actually exists, and it's right here. www.helicoptermuseum.co.uk/index.htmIn the post-blowup time, it's basically become a "lifeboat" for rotorcraft technology and closely guarded to protect its contents from scrap-hunters and looters who would carry off everything that isn't bolted down; the light metals that would go into aircraft are now at a premium since no more is being mined at this time. That there is security and support around makes it one of the safer places to operate from. If you have any questions at any point, simply get us on IM. Nerisa - Now docked in Liverpool along with the Virtanen sibs, with Shayla and a few others, while information is being sought on the dealer who brought Bree into that port and sold her there. From that point, they could go track down the dealer, and in turn find leads that could bring them to the user who abducted and transformed Bree in the first place. Liverpool is currently a major UK port, one of the busiest in the region. In the post-blowup era, the traffic and population are considerably diminished, and many of the docking facilities stand idle and rusting. A lot of illicit business, such as slave trading, has crept in as time and life moved on. Where Bree is now - A power station project in the French alps, with residential facilities for the executive in charge and the workers. This complex is located in a high moraine above the tree line, around a lake fed by a hot spring from the same source that the power station is tapping. It is connected to St. Alix, the village below, by an incline railway which is the only quick way up. The other route is the St. Alix pass, which is six miles of hard going down towards the border with Switzerland. Bree had been mentally forced into the role of an Icer slave brought in as a tutor for the executive's children, but an accident with a runaway team of horses left her with a concussion that tore away those psychic constraints. Now she's the only military or quasi-military person in a community that may be facing a terrorist attack aimed at destroying power-generating infrastructure and anyone capable of setting it up or running it. She will have to do what she can to hold off the attackers and help people escape until additional help arrives. There are animals at the facility, which could give Annikki a way to see what's going on - if she knows about the place.
