*hehe* Time for me to make an art post here. I have made tons of sketches again but I have not scanned them in so far and yeah and don't want to annoy you with my crappy sketches... XD I just finished an Oekaki a few minutes ago (I used Shi Painter Pro to make it, that's a free drawing programm used on Oekaki boards ) featuring Chakée. ;D I'm obsessed... I could have made it bigger *uhmm...* yep, this is original size (it's a PNG). It took me 74 min, just a quick fun drawing that's a bit sloppy on some parts. No need of PS to make digi art *YAY*

Thankies! Yes, I have a tablet. My beloved Wacom Graphire 4 (with a fresh tip). XD But I can't draw anything with a mouse now anymore, I think that is a tablet-user-illness.

I'm hoping for a tablet for Christmas... they seem so nice. o.o
That really is very cool, though!

They are awesome ;D if you draw with one you never want to use something else again. Just one thing, I would not recommend Trust or Aiptek tablets, they seem to have problems with the touch intensity. They are cheaper than Wacom but if you buy a Wacom you will never regret that, these tablets are the most used ones in the graphic sector and jsut a pleasure to use. I got an Intuos 1 at work but I'm a bigger fan of the Graphire 4 (and it is even cheaper) there is also the Intuos 2 and 3 available and the Cintiq (not really a tablet anymore, it is a screen and a tablet, you can draw "directly") I think the most important thing when getting a tablet is to avoid to get one where the pen needs a battery.

I had a CalComp tablet for a few years, but it busted, dammit.

I've got a Walcom Graphire 3 and I also have my old Walcom Artpad 2 (Which STILL works!) and I have to say with Walcoms, I swear by them when I use them. I mean if my old Artpad 2 manages to STILL work and it even outlasts the computers it was used on, then you KNOW it's good. Because of that, for tablits, I'll only use Walcoms exclusivly.

CalComp? Oh, can't remeber that I have heard of that one. Can it be that they are also manufacturing these big drawing boards often used for CAD stuff?
@kamui.EXE
I have absolutely no clue how old that Intuos 1 is which I'm working with, it is on 24 h (because my comp rarely gets turned off there). I use it many hours every day, it got used by another employee before me and it still works. XD Wacom rulz... ;D

Wheee.. you and your Oekakeeee, I could never work serious in that programm *LOL* it's almost pixelart or a mix between brushed and pixel work, trés nice I say! ;D
Wacom is for life... no doubts, I have a Intuos1 at work and a Intuos2 Platinum at home, already needed a bunch of new tips for it.. and I dropped it like... hundred times both still work just if they are new, great creative tools!

I'm uncertain myself when Intuos 1 came out but I know for sure Artpad II came out oh.... over ten years ago.... maybe even older. I'm just trying to remember here. I think I was running Windows 95 when it first came out and when it first came out is when I got my tablit...... I think. Or was it a few years laters? Anyways, I just know it's old and still works. But there is something to be said about Walcom's durability and ability to even outlast the PC technology it was on. I just wish there was a way that I could hook up my old Artpad II with an adapter or something of some kind to make it function on a USB port. *Sigh* Oh the memories. I even remember what programs it was bundled with too. We had this program called Dabbler II that came with it. It was much like a primitive Corel Painter. Actually, the icons and tool functions are so extremely similar to eachother, I start to wonder.... hm.... ~Kamui.EXE

Eeeh Oekakiiii is da fun... Does that Artpad got an ADB plug or a fat one (dunno their name now XD a bit looking like the ones for monitors)? For ADBs there exists an adapter for USBs but I have only seen one for Macs and only for older ones. Corel Photo Paint 4, ah nightmare of a graphic programm... XD I remeber that I had to use that to scan stuff (that scanner was sooo fat, big and heavy *wuaahh* that was one of the first available ones for "normal" people ;D ) and there was just no other programm which worked with that fat thing.

Too bad that they cost as much as three or four computers.

Chakée is, as always, so cool-looking.
And I am jealous of all of you that have tablets because I don't have one and I can't afford one because I don't have a job yet. All I have is my laptop and I do everything on MS Paint.

All I have is my laptop and I do everything on MS Paint. Well.... there is one thing I can help you with: www.gimp.org/(It's a little like the free version of Photoshop. If you don't have photoshop, this is a good way to go. Oh! And did I mention it's FREE! XD ) There used to be a free version of openCanvas around but I can't seem to find it. So I really can't provide you with a link to that www.humanbalance.net/gale/download.html(Okay. So this one's Japanese BUT still usable even if you don't know any Japanese at all. It's mostly used in sprite animations but I can't see why you can't do any art with it either. Oh.... and just so you can get a hold of the free one. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the button TO YOUR LEFT and NOT the one to your right.) www.blender.org/cms/Home.2.0.html(For ooy-gooey 3D goodness in a free program, Blender's the way to go. Quite powerful for a FREE 3D program. But only do this if you don't mind driving youself insane with trying to learn 3D all together. I mean... Blender's easy enough to use, but it's the whole concept of trying to "think" in three dimensions and "draw" in three dimensions could be hard. You have to change the way you view art in order to understand it. ^^;; ) I hope this helps! ~Kamui.EXE
