They make us wait because they want to drive us insane for the next six months.

Confirmed Transformers.
Autobots Optimus Prime: Peterbilt truck.
Bumblebee: 1974 Chevrolet Camaro, later 2008-2009 version.
Ironhide: GMC Topkick pickup truck.
Jazz: Pontiac Solstice.
Ratchet: Search & Rescue Hummer H2.
Decepticons Megatron: Cybertronian Spaceship.
Starscream: F-22 Raptor fighter jet.
Brawl: Modified M1 Abrams Tank.
Blackout: MH-53 Pave Low Helicopter.
Scorponok: Giant mechanical scorpion.
Bonecrusher: Buffalo H Mine-Protected Vehicle.
*Barricade: Saleen S281 Ford Mustang Police Car.
Frenzy: CD Player.
*But this is what I don't get, why would the producers make a Decepticon a Police Car? He's kind of like ridshadowfox's character Filly: Both are Ford Mustang Police Cars. But, Filly is only a police car for justice, but Barricade is "To Punish & Enslave!"

Anyway, I'm still excited that the movie will come out this year. I'm thing about getting the Barricade & Bumblebee action figures when they come out.

The police car was initially intended to be the Autobot Prowl, who was a Datsun Fairlady 280ZX police cruiser originally, but the producers wanted to make the balance between factions more one-sided.

But Barricade is a hunter/scout & he chose to be a police car as a camoflauge to trick the Autobots.

Ever hear of plot device written to explain an anomaly? It's not uncommon. Quite obviously, the character isn't making decisions for himself. The decisions for the character are being made by the producers and writers of the film. Hence, the decision to go with the hunter/scout who's using the form as camoflauge as opposed to the character they were originally designing the cruiser for: Prowl.
Keep in mind, Barricade was a character SPECIFICALLY CREATED for use in the film. He is NOT an original Generation One transformer. He did NOT appear in seasons 1-4 of the 1984 cartoon.
Just because something is in the script DOESN'T mean it wasn't written that way to override a decision made executively.
The t-rex was made big to be intimidating in Jurassic Park, and so people would believe it was a t-rex... but mostly it was because Spielburg didn't want people to confuse it with smaller predators in the film (particularly the raptors, who were made to be large... another executive decision written off as "normal" in the film for people unfamiliar with the animal).

I think you got it wrong. Barricade IS a Generation One transformer, first introduced in 1990. He is a member of the Race Track Patrol. Barricade is the commander of the team and pushes the other members. His only fictional appearance is in the Dreamwave comics Micromaster series. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barricade_%28Transformers%29

That was only the Japanese version, which most American fans don't follow.
And besides that, you totally avoided the topic at hand. Which was, Barricade's inclusion was instead of Prowl.
