You know what's another "retro" car I hate? The Toyota FJ Cruiser. Everyone in my country is screaming about how cool and amazing it is, when I personally think it looks like a metal blob with a classic Land Cruiser grille slapped on the front.

The Volkswagen Beetle was designed by Ferdinand Porsche in '38. It was marketed by Hitler without Porsche's approval.

Me? Go Learn? About the VW Beetle? ^^;
In 1933, Adolf Hitler met with Ferdinand Porsche to discuss the development of a "Volks-Wagen" ("People's Car"), a basic vehicle that should be capable of transporting two adults and three children at a speed of 100 km/h (62 mph), and which should cost no more than 990 Reichsmark (at an average income of 32RM/week).
Erwin Komenda, Porsche's chief designer, was responsible for the design and styling of the car.
Hitler didn't design the car. He named it, though. There was a contest a few years ago to name the VW Tiguan. The guy who named it didn't design the car.

he commissioned it. that means you pay someone to do what you want. so they made his car. and anyways... that was one reaon that i dont like it. even if hitler had nothing to do with it, it's still a bad car.
and anyways, thats not what we're menna be discussing and i dont want to get into an argumet, ok?

You know, after thinking about it for a bit, I can't say that I'm truly against muscle car "remakes"...it's the only way most of us Bahrainis will ever taste American muscle at an affordable price. The only way to obtain a classic muscle car over here is to import it, which is very expensive and complicated, and I'm betting that obtaining spare parts is just as much of a nightmare too. And do classic muscle cars usually have good air conditioning? Because if they don't, they're pretty much useless over here except in the coldest winter months.(We live in a desert, FYI. ) Quite a few people still do it, and I've spotted a couple on the road, but I'm betting that 90% of classic muscle cars imported to Bahrain are tuned and used exclusively for drag racing. But in the end, the only pre-80s sports cars you'll usually see on Bahrain's roads are old Nissan/Datsun Z-cars. EDIT: Oh, and if I do get a new Charger, it'd be either the normal package or the SRT-8(if that's even sold here). The new Daytona looks like a cheap rice job.

I just thought of something... you see any Lambo LMs around? y'know I always had a liking for those things. just something bout a 2+ton monster with bulletproof tires that can outaccelerate most normal cars that appeals to me. plus it's a huge 4X4 that's a Lamborghini. trouble for us here is, I believe they are atually larger than most actual places in the UK. like England; or Wales for example.

Heh...that's the last kind of car I would think of when I think "Lamborghini". And no, I haven't ever seen it...I think if you brought one to Bahrain, the whole island would sink. Maybe that's why nobody brings classic muscle cars here, the gigantic engines would be just too much for the country to handle. The Dodge Ram SRT-10 sounds right up this thing's alley. It's a normal Ram, with a few cosmetic mods and a Viper engine under the hood. Held the record of world's fastest truck for a while. EDIT: And I find it amusing that British people would make fun of the size of their country. Try looking up Bahrain on a map. Seriously, just try it.

Well...jeeze....people seem to get snooty when you mention a dislike for Nazi's and how oblivious you were to the fact that they changed the subject BEFORE you wrote about it.... If that made sense....perhaps it's time to get a catscan....if not.... it's all good...I'm kinda sick and my heads kinda cloudy....^^; excuse my lack of making sense-ness.....

Just in case anyone is interested, here are some of the few classic muscle cars in Bahrain: www.bahrainracing.com/featuredcars/index.htmlOnce I get a license, I need to try and track down the owner of that Challenger...I need to have it. Or at least sit in it. And just so no one confused, that "Lumina SS" is actually a rebadged Holden Commodore SS. Popular car here.
