The new Charger's are okay I s'pose... But they show very little resemblance to the older, sexy ones. But I don't think the new ones are horrible looking, just... Weird. (They look like Chrysler 300C's to me... ) THANK YOU!!! I SAID THE SAME THING!! WHEN I ACTUALLY SAW ONE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, I THOUGHT THEY HAD UPGRADED THE Chrysler 300C's, BUT THEN I SAW "CHARGER" ON THE BUTT AND WAS LIKE "AWWWW HELLS-NO!". (Sorry for the caps.....^^; I get too carried away)

what? the 300c looks like a house on wheels. only less aerodynamic, and heavier. and a house'd corner better - without wheels. the charger looks okay.

Wow, it went from a totally awesome car to one of the ugliest cars I have ever seen. Not as ugly as a Ford Mustang, but scarily close.

I feel the same, I mean, it looks like they've just rebaged the new Charger, and giving it a tiny spoiler, hardly a 'Goalpost Wing'

What's even worse is that while the old Daytona was(from what I understand) a super high-performance racing version of the old Charger, the new Daytona has no performance upgrades above the new Charger, aside from a new muffler and intake that add a measly 10 hp.
But like I said earlier, that's probably because Dodge doesn't want it to compete with the SRT-8.

Just stating my annoyingly loud opinion as always. I never did answer the initial question of the thread, though. Yes, I hate remakes of classic cars. Old VW bugs are adorable, the new ones are hideous. Same with the VW bus. While they never really did a "remake" (because as far as I know they never went out of production, they just continued to change over the years) the "new" ones are not nearly as cool as the 60s ones. Classics are just generally better. With a few exceptions, they just don't make 'em like they used to.

does anyone else here think that the front end of the new Jag C-XF looks really, really ugly? it's like its been hit with a giant cricket bat or something.

I can handle Volkswagen T2 Campers (70s) but after the T3 (80's) it was too boxy and had no relation to the original bus. >>

yeah i dislike it when they upgrade good ol' classics, especially when they make them look like something so different..originals rock! i didn't like those new beetles either..they just don't have the same cute charm as the old ones..i remember when they came out with those..i was like "OMG! they messed up herbie!"

The old VW's were anyone's car. They were affordable and reliable.
The new Beetles are seen as a 'chick car' and are mostly bought by peppy young women because they're OMGSOCUUUTE or something.

the new beetle needs the spoiler. so you know what way it's facing.
though the old beetle was apalling too. slow, uneconomical, unreliable nazimobile.

But like I said earlier, that's probably because Dodge doesn't want it to compete with the SRT-8. Supposedly...the new Daytona has a Hemi standard...but all the new Hemi's are good for is making alot of noise...they do nothing like what the old ones did....
