"Steph would've loved to come along on this adventure," said Delfina, "but I didn't think to bring her. Plus, she's still a little too young anyway."
(((((OOC: Not really sure how old everyone is here...)))))

<<< Dawn and Manuel are now in their late teens. Randy is about the same age >>>
"Maybe next year." Dawn shrugged. "I think she still likes the horses too much to leave them."

"Well, she might be curious to know what kind of adventure we had when we return," said Delfina, "She's always wanting me to tell her stories every night."
(((((OOC: I guess that makes Stephanie about around 10 years old and this RP is taking place before Kidnapped, but after Ghosts and Hauntings.)))))

<<< Dawn was eleven or twelve at the time of crossing over, and I think she's almost 18 now. And I think another year or two passed before Stephanie was actually conceived. >>>
"Does she ever ask about the old world?" Dawn inquired.
Randy cocked his bow at this.

(((((OOC: I think it took about 3 years after the blow-up before Delfina and Aron decided to finally have a baby, so Stephanie must probably be around 8 right now.)))))
"Not that much," Delfina shook her head, "This is the only world she knows. I haven't shown her the vids from the blow-up yet and I think she's rather too young to understand we come from a different world."

"How old is she?" Randy inquired, curiosity piqued.

"She's 8 years old and her name is Stephanie Mae Verant," said Delfina, "but we all call her Steph for short. She's quite an energetic little girl and she loves horses."

"Horses?" Randy pondered, "Oh, I think I saw them on TV, years back. You ride the critters, don't you?"
"You have any pictures you can show, Delfina?" Dawn asked.

"Yes, I do," Delfina reached for a bag and set it on her lap as she rummaged around inside of it. It wasn't long until she pulled out a handful of photos, which were wrapped in protective plastic to keep them from getting wet of Stephanie at different stages of her growth, "Here they are."

Randy carefully extended an aerial with a pincer head to grasp and examine the laminated photos. "She looks a lot like you."

"She has more of my features than she does her father's," nodded Delfina, then smirked, "though she loves him just as much as she does me."

"Yeah, she looks like a little charmer." Randy held the pictures up for Freda. "You ever see these?"

"No, this is the first time I've seen them," said Freda as she glanced at the photos, "Cute kid."
"Thanks," said Delfina, "I never really show them to anybody unless I feel they have an interest in wanting to know who my daughter is and what she's like."

"I'd love to meet her, one of these years." Randy handed the pictures back on his aerial head. The humans were, for the present, wary of taking children out of the zone of safety established around the Ash Mountain reserve. But the day would come, sooner or later.
Overhead, a Eurocopter Dauphin in USCG markings cruised overhead, making a leisurely turn over the shoreline. CDR Bree LeVasseur made welfare checks on the human encampment whenever time and duty allowed, making sure that things were peaceable and safe between them and the locals. Fortunately, no one was giving them any problems, except for over-curious tourists who had to be reminded to respect the campers' privacy.

Delfina tucked the pictures away back in her bag, zipping it back up. "I can probably bring her here when she's older, that is, if she wants to."
She looked up to see Bree and gave a wave a greeting.
