Delfina turned as Raven came up to them, noting the glow in his scarlet eyes.
"I think I should tell you who and what I really am," said Raven as he picked up the medallion, "I am called Raven, my true name is two incomprehensible for you all to pronounce, and I'm from a star, what astronomers call Sirius, that's very far away. My people are shapeshifters as this form I wear now is not my true form. We are also space travelers."
He sighed, "Sixty of your years ago I visited this star system as I was curious about the radio signals that I had been receiving from this little planet called Earth. That drew me here. But something went wrong. I lost control and plunged into the atmosphere. I could only manage to maneuver myself to this great expanse of water because land crashes were devastating and fatal. The water softened my fall, but I sank to the very bottom of a trench, my maneuverability systems all but shot. Then I went into hibernation and 60 years later, I woke up and here I am."
Raven gave a sad sigh as he finished his story.

"So would you have a family, someone looking for you?" Dawn asked. "And what about that medallion Bill found? Is it the same sort of thing that you have?"

"I... have one sister," said Raven, "Her name can only be translated to mean Sparrow. The medallion is almost like what I have, but it's more of a item of sentimental value than an energy disc. It belonged to her, but she had given it to me for good luck on what I thought would be a quick trip to this system and this planet."

Bill stood back. "So this is yours, then. I'm glad I was able to take care of it for you."
Dawn glanced over to Ebony, wondering what she was making of all of this.

"Thank you," said Raven as he picked up the medallion.
Ebony had been listening to this all in silence, but it was taking her awhile to wrap her mind around the whole thing.
Raven looked toward the Viper and smiled, "I bet this is alot for you to take in, isn't it?"
"What?" Ebony blinked, startled at the fact that she had actually felt something poke the back of her mind and she knew that it wasn't Delfina, "How did you...?"
Raven put a forefinger against his temple, "I know what you were thinking."
Ebony didn't have anything to say to this, except, "So that was you poking around at the back of my mind?"
"Yes," nodded Raven, "but not for long before I got shoved out. You have very strong mental barriers. I wonder who taught you that. You are not a sorceress."
"No, but Delfina and my friend, Phoenix, are," said Ebony, "I am just a psychic empath. Phoenix is the one who taught me how to strengthen my mental barriers."
"Still, that's pretty good for one like yourself," smiled Raven.
"I see..." Ebony said slowly, her emerald green eyes shining brightly in the darkening night.

"Ebony has a lot of talents." Dawn smiled enigmatically.
The boats were as close in to shore as they could get without beaching themselves, watching the goings-on closely.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she has more that are hidden," said Delfina.
"But I have no other knowledge of what I can do," said Ebony, "All I can do is sense others emotion, be physically affected, and talk to ghosts. There's nothing special about that."
"You doubt yourself alot, but you never know how things would turn out for better for you," said Raven, as he noticed the boats at that moment. He looked toward them.

The boats stilled as Raven's eyes fell upon them, their eyes reflecting silver-yellow in the falling darkness. "Uh... hi again." Randy managed to blurt out.
At the coast guard station, Jastrow's evening nap was disturbed by the sounds of incoming helicopters - two more. The speedboat looked up - two more Dauphins, of the first generation from which all the variants had sprung. He'd heard that Shale might not get along that well with the Commander's father. But then, Guy LeVasseur was not well known for getting along with anybody outside his family circle.

"Hello, I know you," said Raven.

Shale was still napping by Bree's hangar, not yet aware of the arrival of her parents.

"Good to see you up and around again, Raven." Erika smiled.
"Yeah." Marty nodded.
Guy and Sharon LeVasseur were already greeting their other children in the back, and getting an update on Bree's condition. Guy was dark royal blue in color, with crimson trim. He viewed the world with a nose-high attitude, as if most of it didn't come up to his standards. Being one of the original French-born, he spoke with a slight accent which, if anything, served to bolster the front of cultured contempt for the rest of creation outside his family. His eyes had the same lupine copper glow as those of his freemartin daughter, and the reflection of the lights seemed to add to their sharpness.
Sharon was a different deal, silver-grey with burgundy trim, gentle brown eyes and a generally benign expression, albeit one that was now crossed with worry. She was one of the first of the American-born, and a bit younger than her husband. Of her three children, Robin was the one with the greatest resemblance.
Greg came up and tapped gently on Shale's side with a fork. "Wake up lad, your love's mum and dad are here."

"I needed to time to cope with the current timeline and get used to this new situation that I'm in," said Raven.
His eyes flicked from Randy to Erika. "It looks like you've found someone too."
*****
Shale woke up with a groan, "Oh... I knew this was gonna happen sooner or later." He wasn't really sure he wanted to face Bree's parents right now, but it looked like he had no choice now.

"You could say that." Randy grinned lopsidedly as Erika nuzzled him. She seemed to be taking everything in stride.
Marty muttered something about having to get used to the situation they were in as well.
Guy advanced towards the hangar door, scenting his daughter and also that she was still unwell. He hardly noticed the Bell/Agusta mix in the corner, brushing brusquely by him. It was like Shale didn't exist.
Sharon noticed, and gave Shale an apologetic glance that suggested that she'd had to go in more than once and clean up her mate's messes.
Robin and Jordan were full of TOLD-YOU-SO.

"Looks like your friend out there is very glum, though," Raven pointed out, indicating Freda, who was further away from the beach and not paying much attention to what was going on, "Is she sick?"
(((((OOC: And trying to think what's going on with Freda...)))))

Shale huffed and rolled his eyes as Guy brushed passed him. He then noticed Sharon giving him an apologetic look, but returned it with a "It's okay. I'm used to it." response.

<<< Wonder if she's tired of the lonely nights? >>>
"I think she's kind of down because she's missing the guy she's got a thing for." Randy said.
"That would be the Coast Guard cutter." Erika filled in the rest. "He's a pretty cute guy, for that type."
Greg was at Bree's side again, taking her internal temperature through a flexible oral thermometer. He looked up at Guy as he stuck his nose in. "Mr. Levasseur." he nodded, "The Command-uh, your daughter, seems to be over the hump now. Her temperature's down to 101.5, from 103 several hours ago, and it was 105.5 at its peak. It appears that her fever is now broken, though she will still be in the recovery stage for about a week."
Guy's reaction was conservative. "That's... encouraging, monsieur. You have been giving her fluids?"
"Of course." Greg nodded. "Continuous drip line, and a draft of carmine root and daggerleaf mixture every three hours."
"This sounds like a witches' brew." Guy snorted.
"It's our old family recipe, and it does work." Greg was not going to be intimidated for a minute.
"Guy," Sharon finally intervened. "That's exactly what he used when she got sick in the academy. Now will you give him some room?" Her voice was gentle, but there was steel under the velvet.
"Sorry," Guy pulled back.
Bree was still asleep, unaware of the family drama around her.
Robin came up to Shale. "That won't be the end of it, not by a long shot," she whispered. "He was always kind of jealous of Greg since that time."

(((((OOC: Probably...)))))
"Oh, I see," Raven nodded slowly, "She won't have to feel down for much longer. He'll come back."
*****
Freda was anchored as far away from the beach as she could get. She was tired, but also a little sad. She wanted to see Stokes again, but she also had her obligations to the human group and he had his obligations to his job.
She really didn't know if she'll ever get to have a relationship with anybody.
*****
"I'm in for a trying experience with him, aren't I?" asked Shale.
