The Roadster could have looked better, it's a good start but...
We only have fortwos here. The fourfour must feel as crowded as a Mazda Precidia...

I just have seen a red and black Smart Roadster yesterday, that thing is just ugly. I think the Fortwo looks better. The Forfour is not really popular because you get another car with more space inside for the same price, he looks "acceptable" but nothing more...

The fourfour must feel as crowded as a Mazda Precidia... Or the rear seats of a '94 Ford Mustang. My knees and ankles still have nightmares from that experience...

UGH! YES! I HATE THOSE. They're ALL OVER here. And loads of them are painted in ANNOYING, BRIGHT TWO-TONES like green/orange. >< They're officially called Donks. And they've already gotten their own Diecast toy line. I almost want to buy one of the diecasts just to put a Cars fascia on it and have a ridiculously eccentric little character. XD

Wow, sorry to hear that, Volks. XD We don't really get any weird customized cars here, aside from the occasional ricer or jacked-up 4x4. Anyways, I was looking for pics of a '60s Mercedes SL, when I came across this: Ok, the car itself looks classy, but it's just big for no apparent reason. It's like the only reason you'd buy it is so you can say "Hey look, I have a ridiculously huge luxury car. Never mind that it guzzles more gas than a tank, turns like an aircraft carrier, and needs parking space the size of a small country." You can say the same thing for some SUVs, but at least all that size goes into passenger and cargo space. Almost a third of this thing's length is in its hood.

I remember seeing a lot of those still around when I was a kid, Tracker89. The ironic thing is just a few years after they became popular, the oil shortage hit America and they shared road space with the Chevettes, Citations and Rabbits that were built to economize on gas! Volksdragon, for some reason I'm drawn to those Donks, esp. the last pic you posted -- muscle car. They're so...strange! I've never seen one around here yet, but Pittsburgh usually isn't the first city to warm up to auto trends.

Lol, I wouldn't want to be in an economy car when that thing hits me...especially not a '70s econocar. My dad used to own a Chevy Caprice Classic, which looked sort of like that thing but wasn't utterly ridiculously big(although it was still pretty huge). And on the opposite end in car size, there's the "Ford Ka" a weird little compact with an equally weird name that was pretty common when I went to Spain last year: And while this is a car thread, I don't see why planes wouldn't be allowed. So I present to you the two Uglies of the Sky, the Airbus Beluga: ...and the Aero Spacelines Super Guppy:

I don't see why so many concept vehicles are impractical/unnecessary/stupid-looking. Can't companies just stick with a style that works?

'Cause it makes 'em feel all special and wanted.

The whole point of concept cars is "what is the most ridiculous and outlandish design that our company can possibly build?"
Every once in a while they come up with a good-looking/practical concept that actually makes it to production or inspires a production car.

I love the fact that they can park horizontally in parking spaces.
