Copied and pasted from a friend's journal... From Wikipedia.
On 25 May 2007, it was announced that The Sims film rights had been purchased by 20th Century Fox.[7] Not much is known yet about the upcoming film. However, it has been noted that the movie will be live action. It will be written by Brian Lynch, the man responsible for writing Scary Movie 3 and writing/directing the 1999 film Big Helium Dog. The film will be produced by John Davis, responsible for films such as Norbit and Eragon.
Emphasis mine
The Sims, a movie?
At first, I thought this was the result of some Wikipedia prankster. Until I checked it out on the Internet Movie Database.
How can I react to this? When I read this article, my parents sleeping a floor above me heard this sound erupt from my room.
As if the concept itself wasn’t laughable, the people that they’re attaching to this…. I need to find a stamp that says “EPIC FAIL” and stamp it on every reel of this thing before it enters post-production. IMD link: www.imdb.com/title/tt1042380/Anybody else expect this to be a dismal failure?

I can't imagine a good interesting movie based on The Sims... only the future will tell us.

live action does not equal Sims. Sims = SIMULATION of live action, thats the whole point!

WOW. I did not see that coming. How weird! Sims is a game, and should be nothing more. And if its written by losers that doesnt help.
