What animes do people watch? I find it hard to get into animes sometimes, not only because plots are as bit strange at times, but its hard to find dubbed or subtitled episodes on the net and I don't want to buy a dvd then found out I don't like it. Right now I'm watching Ginga Densetsu Weed www.youtube.com/profile?user=xRunningstarx Its about a little blue dog called Weed and his quest to find his dad and restore peace to the Dog Paradise. There some swearing and blood but its not too morbid. I was just wondering what animes people know of because I'd love to get into some but I don't know any names. Also I'm trying to find the name of an anime I watched as a kid. If anyone can tell me what it is from my crappy description then you'll get hugs and cookies XD From what I remember it was set in some fantasy land on a group of islands and these 3 ( i think) teenage girls ended up there and there were these tribes of dwarfs. They had this prophecy about the "giant" girls and each tribe wanted the girls for different things to do with this prophecy. I remember the colours being very natural and not brightly coloured like most animes and there were flying snails that the little people rode round on. Yeah....tis weird I know but anyhelp would be appreciated :3

I only remember Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki! OVA series, where a young boy finds out that he's heir to an alien throne and welds a powerful sword that allows him to control Tsunami, a powerful battlecruiser/space goddess. He lives near the shrine of his grandfather and with a group of alien women, like Ryoko, Princess Ayeka, Princess Sasami (who's actually fused with Tsunami; like a mirror image of child and adult version), Mihoshi, and Washu (The Greatest Scientific Genius in the Universe! But you can call her Little Washu! *makes cute face* XD).
I'm able to find some episodes on YouTube, but not very many, and it's the only anime I watched while I was growing up and I still had the television channel that it aired on. But it's completely difficult to find episodes anywhere else and it's extremely rare to find any in a library.
As for the other anime you mentioned about the three girls on the island, I haven't a clue what it's called because I never heard of it. Sorry... ^^;;;

Here's a list of the animes I've heard of, with a short description so you can determine whether or not you'll want to check it out:
DragonBall/Z/GT: Quite popluar- just type it in a search engine and tons of info will pop up. Basically, an alien species has only two male survivors, and they settle on earth with half-human children and fight evil. A bit violent, though. Unedited versions are quite bloody, if I remember correctly...
Gundam Wing: Another popular one. Five boys are caught in a war between two factions (Technically three, if you count OZ and the Alliance as seperate entities) and no side of their own. I liked this one in particular- the five boys' personalities vary so much the reactions to each other in fanfics gets quite comical.
G Gundam: A man participates in a Gundam Tournament to find his older brother, who he believed betrayed their father. He ends up leading the Shuffle Alliance, and discovers who is really behind the mysterious going-ons behind the tournament...
Gundam 0080: A young man becomes a new commander for the 0080 regiment of the Alliance army against Zion and gradually gains the respect of others of the Alliance... Until he meets the sister of the Zion general... The end of this series almost made me cry. It was very touching.
Tokyo Mew Mew- Five girls gain animal-like attributes in two men's attempts to ward off an alien invasion. Their base of operations is a cafe. Heh. I think there's something going on with the blonde guy (named Elliot in the dubbed version), but never found out what.
Hamtaro- Take everything DBZ isn't- cute and fuzzy- and place insane amounts of them in a blender; add some fur and sunflower seeds, and you get Hamtaro. It's a show about hamsters and the world as they see it. I once did a Gundam Wing/Hamtaro crossover- it frightened some people.
There's more, but I can't think of any right now...

I like the old school anime - Captain Harlock, Star Blazers/Yamato, and the original Gundam. Can you tell I'm a big fan of Leiji Matsumoto?

I sorta remember Gundam, but I never watched it because I didn't like the chauvenism that was bandied about it. I was always drawn to the strong, female characters that believed that they could do anything men could do and vice versa.
Several of my other favorite animes were Nausicca of the Valley of the Wind and Blue Submarine No. 66.
