I can't be the only person who loved this film, can I? Nearly every review of it online is scathing at best. Speak up if you liked it! www.doogalmovie.com/I didn't catch much advertising for this G-rated CGI film last February, but it was out in theaters briefly and then went to video in the US. From what I hear the British version (titled "The Magic Roundabout") is far superior and I'll have to keep an eye out for a copy. The American version was fun but you had a real sense of a better movie lurking behind the overdone cultural references (which already sound dated less than a year later, while this COULD have been a timeless story) and it had so many flatulence jokes it was insulting to the intelligence! Not to sound like a prude but I think movie writers have gotten very lazy in the last ten or fifteen years and have substituted fart jokes for quality writing. You can make kids roll in the aisles of the theater with good humorous scenes but it takes more effort. OK, off my soapbox. Your thoughts on the movie?

I thought it was OK,I went to see it in the theaters, but I never bought it. The characters were cute!
My favorites were- Zeebad Dylan Brian Doogal
My favorite parts were when they started playing "Do You Believe In Magic" When Zeebad says,"Let's Bounce",and he hops through the bush and whacks Soldier Sam with the branch. And,when they're in the cave and Brian just slithers by rambling to himself not noticing that a bunch of booby traps are going off,and the rock falls, and it looked like it landed on Brian, everyone gasps, then brian sticks his head out from behind the rock and says,"let's go!",and then Ermitrude says,"I can't believe I'm saying this but, what a snail!"
I would say Jon Stewart,Ian McKellen,Jimmy Fallon, and William H.Macy did the best jobs.

I love that "It's Magic" song and it fit in so well with the surreal land we got to see at the beginning of the film. Dylan's awesome...I loved the scene at the end where he was playing on the rooftop while the camera panned around the landscape. I also loved the way Brian defeated all the deathtraps without realizing what he'd done. There's a few shorts of the original BBC show on youtube...do a search for "Magic Roundabout." The movie characters are pretty true to the originals in appearance.
