Two Words: Tee Hee! Flushed Away is how Britain does Shrek. I think the British Isles can enjoy it more than their American counterparts because the humour is Britcentric. Especially towards France. "We leave immediately!" "What about dinner?" *Pause* "We leave...in five hours!" There were also some nifty little Wallace & Gromit references tucked away. Good times. Except for the fact that, for some reason, Flushed Away has NOT been nominated for Best Animated Film for the Annies. WTH? I know I want Cars to win, but how could Flushed Away be left out of that award while Monster House gets nominated?! This is the biggest Award injustice since anything to do with Martin Scorcese!

Marketting is all about getting people to buy what you're selling, and if that takes a potshot, so be it. The movie was no Cars, but it was worth going and seeing it.
I had to take a long, continuous string of boring advertising classes. What they did is perfectly legal and legit, and in the industry, it's honestly a wise choice.
I often wonder, seeing posts like that, if when I happen to graduate I get a job at, say, Dreamworks instead of Pixar, I'll immediately be hated by some people here...

ChibiJaime speaks the truth. You can't judge a movie based on something bad an advert for that movie said about another movie. Thanks for reinforcing the no-Dreamworks-hating policy.
Besides: it's NOT Dreamworks. It's Aardman. There's a difference.
Additional Besides: Hugh Jackman's in it!

True enough. Yay Aardman! *lurves on Wallace & Gromit*

I'm still trying to go and see it. It looks like a good movie, lighthearted and funny. It also has a lot of my favorite actors in it. (Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Andy Serkis)

They are 'completely' different.
And I love British Comedy. I really enjoyed 'Flushed', my friend however didn't get a bit of the British jokes.
I was raised on Monty Python.

Yay Monty Python! I'm one of those folks who still remembers A Fish Called Wanda, which was, IMO, way underrated.
And now I think I ought to check out Flushed Away...

I saw 'Fish Called Wanda' on AMC. 'I' thought was funny. A lot of people over here just don't get British comedy. I watch BBC regularly.
Flushed will probably have a spring/summer DVD release.

British comedy is really fun to watch.
I'll keep the ol' eyes peeled at work for a date in our computers at work.

I had to take a long, continuous string of boring advertising classes. What they did is perfectly legal and legit, and in the industry, it's honestly a wise choice. Actually, here in Canada, it's well.... I wouldn't say illegal to do that because it's too strong of word, but it does, to a degree, fall under the catagory of slander and things. So in the marketting and media industry in Canada.... You CAN'T say - "Sega does what NintenDON'T." - Pepsi is better than Coke But you CAN say - 9/10 people like Sega (As long as it has some basis in fact) - 9/10 people prefer Coke (As long as it has some basis in fact) It's a weird little law thingy we had pretty much drilled in to our heads in IP Law class last year. But yeah, I just wanted to point our a little law quagmire between America and Canada. More of a for-fun kinda factoid. ^^;;; ~Kamui.EXE

I love the 9/10 facts. XD They could mean that they sampled 50 people, nine people preferred it, so they just used part of it... XD
Or at least that's the way it usually works here. X3
