Watch this clip from the videogame very closely when Mater's cousin Tommy Joe is introduced: youtube.com/watch?v=37RzpU1M1ZQIs it just me or did TJ replace his side window with a set of harness straps in the shape of an "X" like real-life demolition derby cars? That would blow some holes in the theory that the windows are necessary to hold any organs inside the main body of the car. At any rate, I think this proves that the windshield is made of a special shatter-resistant glass or other material if a car can survive a demolition derby without losing his vision. I'm curious to hear what you think.

Now I'm really confused. From looking at this picture of Chick's crew chief and the placement of his headphones, you'd assume the side windows are the vehicle's ears. That makes Tommy Joe's apparent lack of side windows all the more confusing. magicalscreencaps.com/images/cars/gall/cars067.jpg
