do cars-verse cars smell?( as in *sniff sniff* not EW PONGY) they can see, taste ( they has tongues),hear and touch (mcqueen squeals when that cactus falls on him) but what about smell? and if so where are the nostrils? my guess is that they can smell and the nostrills are grills... although that would mean some cars wouldn't be able to sniff about  your thoughts? |

In the RPs, it's been a well-established fact that if you were a tuner, you'd be able to use your senses a whole lot better than a normal car. The nostrils, per say, would probably be located at the end of the hood and above the grill, thus allowing room for a mouth.
And that's my thoughts on the subject.

i think it could differ..like for cars with grilles i think they can breathe through those..as for cars that don't..i dunno..XD

I like to think that the automotive equivalent to olfactory receptors(the organ used to smell) would be located near the entrance of the engine intake. And considering that all cars suck air into the engine(either through the grille, mouth, or some other opening), all of them would be capable of smelling if this theory is true.
And to those who are likening the grille to nostrils, remember that not all cars have front-mounted engines.

yeah..like fillmore..i wonder how he breathes..maybe some could just have hidden nostrils somewhere..that you couldn't see? i dunno XD

XD... Filmore's nostrils are on his butt? O.o... That's just weird.
But, there are animals that can 'breathe' in smells by having their mouths open, just like cats can. And I've seen my cats do this a few times.
Maybe Filmore smells that way... I dunno... maybe...

Well, my theory is all about getting air to the engine, so 'smelling' through the mouth could work, assuming there is a link between the mouth and the engine.

there has to be a link between the engine and the mouth. how else would the oil they drink get from point a to point b?
There was a thread about this on IMDb a while back as well i think... we didnt come to any conclusions though

maybe theys like animals and pick up smells thru thier mouth and roof of thier mouth to smell other things...

i believe that too...like if da males want to sniff out females in heat(well..thats what i use XD) they fleme(sp??) ..forgot what they call that organ..jakobs organ or something LOL like what some animals do XD
