I would like to start roleplaying here (if my character is allowed, I'm still waiting for the okay on that) but I'm really not sure how to go about it. I don't understand the current cannon you have set up (it doesn't appear to have much to do with Cars the movie, as far as I can tell) and it looks like there's already a lot of pre-established stuff going on with little room for new players. I'm pretty overwhelmed and not sure where to start. Any advice at all would be appreciated.

If you want to start a new RP with canon characters, you can make a proposal in the Brainstorming section and see who else is interested. I don't see anything in the rules really against it.

Thank you, but I wasn't expressing interest in writing canon characters, I had asked if my character was allowed, and if so, where she would fit in.
Edit: Though if a canon character roleplay was something people have actually been expressing interest in, I wouldn't mind doing it. I just don't see anyone really flocking to do that.

Oh, sorry if I didn't quite read that right. Of course you can bring your character in.

Thanks, I'm glad she's allowed. However, I'm really not sure where to jump in. Could you (or anyone else who is currently involved in the roleplays) let me know where a new character is needed, or at least wouldn't be a burden? I've skimmed the ones that are currently active, and I must say I have *no* idea what's going on in them.
Basically, what I'm saying is it doesn't seem like it's possible for someone who hasn't been following these from the get go to really get involved.

Well, I've noticed that most of the active roleplayers have been on, and have posted, and my thread has over 50 views, yet no one has made an effort to help me figure out how I can be included. I was afraid that was going to happen - I've always felt rather unwelcome here as of late.

Well, had it been a bit later, I would have some ideas for you. :/ I mean it. Most of the active characters are pretty much in a whole different dimension.
As of what you can do with your character. She's a 4x4, right? The human 'HQ' are pretty much located on a mountain where few two wheel drive can get to without guidance. But it is doable by 4x4 I would believe.
Things would be dang more easier if I just knew her personality. The angsty type may just be avoiding social situations. The shy type could be looking for interactions with some that may not resent them for their unattractive qualities. The adventurous type... Heck, humans are an entire new species.
Or you can get to RS, and learn more about the humans there while waiting for Sarge to return to continue the boot camp.

Sorry, I was helping with dinner and clean-up. We'll be bringing our main characters back across quite soon, Danny. You can bring your character to the mountain, or to RS, or if you want to try something else, do let us know about it.

So this is is an entirely different continuity than the one in the actual Cars movie?
I was looking to enter a Cars roleplay, not a fan-world, but I suppose I'll have to adapt if I want to be included.
Is there any overview of this word you guys have made up? So I can understand how it works, and what exists in it?
As for Tyler's personality, I think she would generally avoid contact with other vehicles unless she had a reason to be interacting with them.

Ohh boy.
What I meant by a different dimension altogether meant that we have a type of dimension traveling here. But that, plus magic and demons and more magic and more magic, magicmagicmagic... I need sleep soon. Yeah, it constitutes as fan-made, but it also has the original characters as they appear in the movie.

Magic? Demons?
Oh.
I think I'll pass. I thought this was a Cars forum.

So did I, believe me. But it is fun. Heck, I enjoy create characters that have nothing to do with magic at all. Even handicapped when it comes to that.

I really wouldn't be interested in taking part in a roleplay that had supernatural elements, though. It has absolutely nothing to do with the movie. If I wanted that sort of thing I would go to a Harry Potter forum. I was looking for something more character driven and movie based. I'm sure you're having a blast writing what you are, which is all well and good... but it's a bit off-putting for someone who is actually a Cars fan, and nothing more.
Is it possible to start a new roleplay, that gets back to the roots of the original intentions of the Cars universe? Would anyone at all be willing to take part?

Maybe it is time to start a new RP, with the rules of no magic or anything supernatural.
Too bad I am scared shitless of anything regarding origional story. It's true. I avoid writing fan fiction unless I have too much urge to.

Well, if you want, I would be willing to compromise.
We can do without supernatural elements, but we can write with fan characters, and not give the original characters a large role, or any roll at all, if you prefer. We can even have it take place in an entirely different setting, if that's more to your liking. I would just enjoy it much more if it followed the basic mechanics of the film, and I would feel awkward and out of place trying to impose my "magic-less" idea of how this should be done on the roleplay you're all already enjoying.
