(((((OOC: Okay... here's an entirely different RP. It's the Cars characters as humans. OCs have also become humans, as you all will soon see... And now, to start it off...)))))
A young girl had stopped at the edge of town, observing it with guarded, fearful emerald green eyes. Should she go in? The last town she had visited had rejected her presence outright and had chased her out and she believed that the inhabitants of this town might do the same.
Tentatively, she walked forward, her tattered satchel hanging across her small shoulders, the soft, leather bag whapping against her slender left hip. Ebony tried to be as quiet as she could this time, early morning, just before the sun came up. She was hoping to get a bite to eat and wedge herself into a hiding place where nobody could find her and chase her out. It was tough enough being homeless and having nobody but yourself to take care of. Nobody really cared about her. It was a fact of life.
Ebony began looking around, hoping nobody would notice her...
A gleam could be spotted on the horizon leading into town, accompanied by an ever-growing rumble. As it got closer, one could see that the gleam was more of a glimmer, coming off of what appeared to be a sleek silver Mercedes CLK coupe.
The driver of said Mercedes looked rather bored as he stared at the approaching town through his expensive sunglasses, leaning a bit on the doorsill with one arm over the gap where the window would be, the wind unsettling his blonde hair. He occasionally took a glance off the road ahead to check his fuel gauge, which was running on empty.
Ach verdammt. I hope this place isn't some kind of ghost town, otherwise I'm ficked.
(((((OOC: Everyone's human here and yes, you can play Flo and Ramone, Reiji. Anyone's welcome to join in. Well, this is an idea that Rizahawkeye, an RPer that I used to RP with almost a year ago, had come up with this idea. There's a brainstorming thread called Humanized RP? in the Brainstorming section explaining the idea in better detail.)))))
Ebony approached the diner with trepidation. It looked quiant and friendly enough, but should she go in there? Who was the proprietor and what were they like and would they allow a teenaged, homeless girl into their establishment? She had no money and she was hesitant.
Please don't turn me away like the last one did, she thought.

(I figured as much. It made me think of the word "figged" and made me imagine Glimmer getting pelted with fruit. XD But since you're bringing in Glimmer, maybe I'll bring in Annie... as soon as I can get an intro typed up, that is.)

Flo busily wiped down the counters of her café, preparing herself for the day. Some of the residents were beginning to stir, and they would be coming in for breakfast soon. The sun was shining brightly today- as was normal in the desert- and she paused to take in a deep breath and smile.
“Hey baby,” came a voice behind her, and an arm slipped around her waist, holding her close in a hug.
She turned her head to face the source, smiling at her husband as he sipped his coffee with his free hand. “Mornin’ hun,” she greeted before they kissed.
He released her and leaned against the counter, peering through the large windows. “Think you got a customer; don’t think I’ve ever seen her before…”
Following his gaze, she noticed the girl and frowned. The poor girl looked so thin… Concern lighting her green eyes, she put down the rag and walked out from behind the counter, heading for the door.
Ramone sipped his coffee. He recognized that look in his wife’s eyes- it showed up whenever her maternal instincts kicked in. It was the same thing when Sally had showed up in town. Looks like they’d have someone else adopted before the end of the day…
The girl wandered in, and Flo greeted her with a smile. “Come on in, hun. Make yourself comfy and let me know what you want,” she said as she passed her a menu. She was practically radiating maternal warmth, and Ramone had to hide his smile behind his cup as he took another sip.

Meanwhile, a lone woman walked down Route 66, the occasional breeze making her already mussed short brown hair flutter. One hand was tucked into the pocket of her jeans and the other held the straps of a bag slung over her shoulder. The bright sun made her squint behind her sunglasses.
Her car had died a mile back, and now she was walking towards a billboard, hoping it was for a town nearby. Her gray sneakers were already almost caked with sand and dust, and her white tank top wasn’t faring much better. She couldn’t call anyone, as she didn’t have a phone, but she doubted one would get service out here in the middle of nowhere.
Her stomach growled, and she signed. As if she didn’t already have enough to worry about…
((I keep imagining Black Debbie from Sealab 2021 as a human Flo. 0: ))
The man in the Mercedes sighed as he saw the hitchhiker near a billboard and gave only a brief thought to picking her up. He didn't seem to notice the broken-down car he passed a few miles back while cruising at 80.
Out here....that guy could probably be America's Most Wanted killer.
He sped on past her, leaving her in a cloud of whatever the car had picked up on the way, and went on past the billboard. He only realized his police radar was beeping like crazy as soon as the billboard and the police car behind him was in his rear-view mirrors.
"Fick," he muttered.
((So...uh...anybody want to play Sheriff? XD))

"Well, considerin' it's morning, how 'bout I cook you up some eggs? Have any style in particular ya like?" she asked as she carried the glass of water to her new customer. She looked so young... What was she doing alone?

Anastasia coughed as she was passed by a Mercedes, the driving going way too fast to be considered legal. She closed her eyes against the dust that went flying towards her. Great... Must've been a racing fan that recognized her and decided to send her a little message. Mainly, "go away".
Once the dust cloud floated away, she sighed again and stopped to dust off her clothes.
