Taiomega, please explain the ChevOge, inquiring minds want to know!
I have owned: '87 Chrysler LeBaron (the blasted unibody underframe rusted out and it dropped an axle) '95 Chrysler Cirrus (I will HATE you for all eternity, Hurricane Ivan, for drowning my poor car.) '96 Ford Taurus (my current car, dubbed "MamaCar" by my son Larry)
Driven: For a short time I did day-labor and got to drive and clean cars at the auto auction...I drove a Cadillac Escalade (not really that cool!), a new 2002 Caddy, a new VW Beetle, and many poor repossessed cars that people had trashed badly.

How does the New Beetle drive? I've heard good and bad about it.

Heh, the Scion isn't even available in europe (central) in the moment, as far as I know it failed the "moose test" *LOL* not sure though, I do think they plan to come up with a revamped european version in the next years... wheeeee, I think it's a great lookin' car! I am driving a Opel Zafira, just for this week, since my boy is in the repair shop over the next week, fixing a little electronic problem.. poor guy.. But.. wow, the Zafira is gigantic, the biggest car I drove ever: Besides that I am still trying to find a Puch 500 in a good state, to make a rallye modell out of it.. though that is still a little dream of me.. since I don't have to time to "rebuild" another car *lol* cute isn't it? The austrian re-production of the Fiat 500 to be exact But hellish a lot more rare than the Fiat version...

Is the Puch 500 signifigantly different in any aspect to the Fiat 500? Other than grille logo?

Oh yes, there are differences, The Puch-Steyr automobile factory only bought the vehicle body design of Fiat in 1957... (not exactly sure about the date but somewhere then) the other parts, like the engine and the chassis was the original design of Puch. They made the whole car a bit more robust for the useage in hard winters and on bad roads (generally it was designed for the people who only drive motorbikes in summer and need something to drive in the snowy winters here too... so they kept it small and tough) The car was even in a lot Rallyes here from 1968 till 1972 ( www.carteam-ferlach.at/img/pics_historie/68semperitrallyfg1.jpg) The reason why I would like to find one to make a rallye design car out of it The Puch one is really really rare, following the manufacturer list, they only sold one to someone from the USA, *gg* the biggest part can be found in the production country of course.. but still damn hard to find... here in the city where I live there is one but the owner doesn't sell it... XP

I'm currently stuck in my mother's Hyundai Accent until I get my car (three weeks... just three more weeks...).
Which will be a cute little 2007 Scion xA that I will affectionately call Jordan. XD

That's awesome, Tai. And Lizkay, that Puch 500 is adorable. Needless to say I've never seen the one that made it into this country. Volksdragon, I only got to bring the New Beetle down a hill (this was in '02) but it drove nicely. Long story, but I kept saying out loud I wished I could get behind the wheel of a New Beetle but I couldn't drive a stick-shift and finally a permanent employee of the auto auction gave me a crash course to drive it. I was worried I'd "hurt" it but it was a fun car to drive. Whenever a NB passes me I try to see what they've put in the bud vase. Usually a fake flower.

the biggest part of the cars in US are automatics gear-shift no? Here you need to search for them, I myself never drove an automatic one, only stick-shift ones, I can't really tell how it feels at all, since it's "normal" for me... and I love playin' with the clutch *LOL* Last week I saw an Aston Martin Vanquish S on a supermarket car park (it was from GB but had the steering still on the left side.. which was quite strange..) Wow... damn nice car and all the people just stared at it, I mean.. it is rare, rare at all and extremery rare here, since it's a really expensive car, I made a shot of it with my mobile phone so that my colleagues believe me that I really saw it there *gg* need to post that shot... still had no luck in finding a "drive-able" Puch 500.. but a lot of Polski Fiats... they are cute too *gg* though it's even hard to find a filling station here which still sells two-stroke fuel..
