umm...accessing memory database...
as a child I loved the idea of cars being alive and able to talk. I even remember, back when I was 5, protesting against my mom that the stalled vehicle that my father was repairing was "sick". or was I four years old?...oh well...but as anyone else, I imagined the eyes being in the headlights.
when I saw the first preview for Cars while watching a movie in Summer 2005,...I don't even have a word to describe what I felt. I thought: "this must be the best movie ever!" like amethyst, I also thought it must have been a movie made for me. the next year was torture. I wanted to see that movie so bad! I don't even know how I survived! and it was the 6th grade, too.
after school ended, there was still a couple of weeks left till June 9th. since the beginning of May, I had found the official website, visiting it as often as I could to learn more about Cars. good thing I visited my older brother/bestest friend in DC in the time standing in my way. we had lots of fun together, in what would otherwise be time spent waiting for trailers, podcasts, and games on the official site to load on a dialup connection. unfortunately, I returned home June 6th, not able to see this much-anticipated movie with my brother.
Finally, June 9th came, and my mom and I went to the AMC theater closest to her job (I went to work with her that day, and we saw Cars late in the afternoon). We sat relatively centered in the theater, the perfect spot so you could see the screen, without it being too far away. also, the seat in front of me was kind of low, so the head of the man sitting there didn't get in the way. we got there a half-hour early, while the theater had only a handful of people. Eventually, people poured in, the advertisements rolled (such as trailers for Ratatouille and Barnyard [that made people laugh harder at the tractor-tipping scene {"Come on, tractor tippin''s fun!" -audience cracks up-}]), and finally...Cars started.
when I got home I felt like I fulfilled my life's dream. then I thought: "what do I do now?" soon, that feeling passed and I enjoyed the rest of my summer. I got the video game for gamecube (Nintendo fans unite!!!) and got the DVD on November 7th. I've watched it seven more times, and since then, I have gotten DSL and found imdb, fanfiction, deviantART, and now...hillbillyhell. (I am The Muffiator 3 on all of those sites, except I have to authenticitate my account on imdb). On days when there is a substitute for Orchestra, we always watch a movie, and I always hope for the same movie: Cars. I'm curious to see what kinds of reactions a group of 7th graders might have on such a movie. but...I don't think Mr. Halcyzn even has that movie. (he has the others though...) school's over anyway...
...
sorry for the novel
