Say hello for me, will ya? Miles texted back. He paused a bit, then composed a message.
How's room service? He sent to Pilar.

Will do, Picard replied.
S'OK, Pilar texted back. The 'lift guys seem amused by it all.

I miss work, you? He texted. Though he did have a job to do while on the ground, it was far from being near the experience of being in the air, minus the first hours of nausea, stuffed nose, and malfunctioning taste buds.

Catching up on my needlework. Pilar texted back. I wanted to get that sampler finished.

You can escape people, but can't escape work. Miles texted back and rose up. It was evening, and he had already delivered his blood sample. He looked towards where the gym was, but decided not to take the chance. At least the doors to his room had been fixed, so he could sleep alone now.

I want to get it ready for this Saturday, at least. Pilar answered. Just stitching the kids' names in now.

I hope you did remember to make it large, if it is intended for them. Miles messaged then continued to his room. He opened the lock and door, and entered. It looked the same, just still a bit 'different'. There was enough leeway to personalize rooms, so he knew it was his.

Oh, it's the size of a blanket. Too bad you haven't seen it yet. Pilar punched back. I should take a picture.

Sure. I'm at a computer so you can email it to me. Miles said as turning on the screen on the computer in the room. He quickly unlocked it and opened up the mail program. There were several unread messages, both in his public email and the intranet email.
I need the distraction. Miles thought to himself as he saved the 'private party' appearance requests and sex proposition into a separate folder. The ones in the past had it much better, there was no such thing as a email and the animosity was much worse.

Pilar spread the work-in-progress across her bed and took a few pictures with her digital camera. She then toothed the files over to her computer and emailed them to Miles.

Miles noticed the new message and looked at the images attached.
He was about to text, but then picked up his phone and laid down on the bed. Once the other end had picked up, he spoke up.
"That's pretty nice work there." He said.

"Thank you." Pilar answered. "It's going to go up in the classroom hangar."

"Already spoken with everyone about it?" Miles asked. "Phoebe and the other sitters and teachers?"

"They've seen the design." Pilar confirmed. "We just wanted it to be a surprise for the kids."

"At least now you got more than enough time to finish it." Miles said. "How are you anyway? Headaches bothering you?"
