"It's called "fresh eyes". Zoe shrugged. "The scientists over here have been over it so many times that they figured they saw it all. Dr. Oberlin took what she'd learned from Bree and studied patterns from other helos in the same lines and some Blackhawks as well. She got into cars a little later. Now she's trying to figure out why some outmode lines persist and some evolve."
"If he's got any brains at all, he'll be steering clear of the club for a while." Picard pointed up. "But there's some other places at the airport he'd be hanging out at."

"But there are not many who are allowed in the Officer's Club." Miles said. "Figure out how he got in, then you have him."
"Would probably help shed some light on you." Christine said.

"I'm telling them everything I can get." Pilar said. "He's got to be working for one of the big contractors."
"We were among the first to get copies of that paper." Zoe said. "It's starting to have an impact on our mating choices." She looked out to the field as they came out again, noting a civilian 737 woman. "Who's that?"

"I don't know, smells mated." Christine said as drawing in the scent. Then the familiar stench hit her. She reeled slightly but collected herself within moments. "Hey, excuse me." She went over to the 737.
"I hope it will help you Picard." Helen said. "We can't really have those kind of guys harassing civilians. Better military because the military gals know how to lay the hurt on someone."

"Yeah, I saw how he paled when the F-16's came up." Picard snarked. "Way smaller than he, but they're biters. I'd like to see him try those moves on Zoe and see how long he lasts."
"Yes?" the 737 woman paused. "Is there any problem?"

"I'm wondering, is your boyfriend nicknamed Rick?" Christine asked.
"Nah, rather count how many stitches it takes to patch him up again." Miles chuckled. "I think I'm going to follow Gate's lead. Who will volunteer to take a shift in case everyone decides to have shuteyes?"

"I'll do the watch." Lionel said. "Anyone who's gonna be busy in a while should get it while they can."
"Why... yes." the 737 paused, narrowing her eyes. "Did something just happen?"

Helen also withdrew, but began checking the space suits. They were her responsibility. Miles went over to the vertical sleeping bags and tucked himself in. Gates was already asleep.
"Well." Christine sighed. "Couple of days ago, he approached me at the Officer's Club, offering threesome."

"A WHAT?!" the Boeing woman's eyes seemed to grow to twice their normal size. "What the--" she noticed Dylan by his parents' side -- "OK, what did he tell you?" She seemed to grow like her eyes did, like an irate cat with its hair puffed up. It was apparent that maybe this wasn't the first time he'd tried to pull this stunt.
Pilar wasn't sleeping, but took it easy for a while. Lionel floated about, going over his checklist of things another time. "Don't let the bedbugs bite."

Christine suddenly remembered Dylan, she hadn't expected Zoe and her family to follow, even though it would have been given.
"He told me he had a girlfriend willing to play for 'both sides' so to speak." She said. She hadn't told Zoe about it, so getting her reaction was also something she didn't really want to know.
Miles chuckled as closing his eyes.

"I admit to... y'know... experimenting." The 737 admitted, lowering her voice in consideration of the child. "But not with complete strangers Rick hauls in off the apron, and I've told him so. He's gonna have a lot of explaining to do." She sighed. "I'm Anna Borelli, by the way. You're the one who does the freefall thing, right? Sorry if we didn't get to meet under better circumstances."
Zoe took a deep breath as she looked on. Jon just shook his head.
Picard was also chuckling to himself, planning a nice little wake-up call later...

"I'm sorry too." Christine said. "Christine Delaney." She sighed. "I just didn't know what to do. It was hard to get him to understand that I was saying no to his offer. I thought you should know it at least."

"It's not something I wanted to hear, but I appreciate knowing." Anna exhaled sharply. "A few months ago, I really thought he was "the one", now I'm not so sure. He's just got this preoccupation with group-gropes and swinging. But I'm kind of glad to find out sooner than later. Thanks for telling me, Christine."
Zoe and Jon kept Dylan some distance back so the two women could talk privately.

"Well, if you do break up. Don't come to me for an experiment or something." Christine said. "The rumors are just rumors, and Dick just happened to believe them. But I hope you do get it sorted out."

"No..." Anna shook her head. "I just don't get those kind of vibes off you. To a lot of guys, a "lesbian" is any woman who won't let them jump her frame. Not to say anything against REAL lesbians, of course. Seriously, I don't think Rick and I are going to be together much longer."
