"<<Copy that. Moving to disperse formation,>>" Alek replied, breaking off from the pack and trying to concentrate whenever the F-35s popped up on his radar. Being an attacker-type plane would make it harder for him to maneuver with fighters compared to his comrades, regardless of his condition.
"<<It looks like the watchers are more numerous than the birds, so be careful.>>" Mikhail added.

For once, Tanya was thankful for her and Ivan's stunt training, as it had prepared them for fast, disorienting situations and taught them how to follow other planes through the craziest manuevers. They each split up and went after a plane.
"<Don't forget that these birds were bred to be better than us. Concentrate and only fire if you find an opening.>"
The MiG armed the "Archer" missile under her wing and went after Claudette. Ivan did the same and went after Chastity.

Fletcher's mood grew a bit better when he heard that they were stopping at a port. Non-stop sailing across the Pacific had taken its toll on him, and he wanted to think that it was the main reason for his incompetence that day.

Claudette became aware of the MiG trying to get on her tail. It would have been just too easy to deal with this woman, past her prime as a fighter, but like a big cat playing with its food, she went into a series of manuveurs designed to draw the MiG further into a trap. Chastity eyed the male who'd taken her bait and felt a strong temptation to play "tag" with him.

Alek kept his relative distance as his fighter comrades each took a fighter. He continued to track his radar, ready to provide backup in case either encountered trouble.

Tanya felt her old airframe strain as she tried to keep up with the younger jet...her usual tactic of chasing the enemy until they were too tired to fight back simply wouldn't work here.
Time to play some mindgames...
She activated every guidance system built into her body and locked onto the plane in front of her. She had no intention to fire...at least, not yet. Panic by itself is a deadly weapon.
Ivan, younger and more agile than his MiG "mentor", was having an easier time keeping Chastity in his sight, but he lacked Tanya's experience and superior training.
((So how should we end this dogfight?))

Claudette made some mental calculations as the MiG woman's lock-on showed up on her systems. She's either nuts or she's playing games. She determined that she would find out. Instead of the expected evasive manuevers, the F-35 maintained course for a few seconds, and then looped up hard, coming directly over the MiG to line up behind her tail and then over her.
Chastity, on the other hand, seemed intent on playing an attrition game with her adversary.

((I'm not sure...maybe one of them - doesn't matter which side - could go down and missing?))
Alek saw what appeared to be one of the F-35s looping about to try to corner Tanya. They were newer jets...but as long as Ivan kept the other one in his sights, 2 vs. 1 was still a good change in odds. Alek banked toward Claudette and slowly approached the lock-on range.

<<< I'm thinking more in terms of party crashers... you'll see what I mean ;D>>>
Claudette knew of Alek's presence, but played at being all innocent and unawares until the last instant before he moved into lock-on range. She then veered out and cut in the afterburners a split second before he would have engaged his targeting systems. With any luck, he might lock onto the wrong person!
Two other aircraft became aware of the cat-and-mouse game taking place on the horizon, and their curiosity was piqued...

((I'm OK with that))
When Tanya saw the F-35 disappear and reappear behind her, she muttered a crude Ukrainian word that thankfully only Ivan would understand. And she found herself repeating that word several times when she suddenly found her sensors swamped with warnings, causing her to break off and go into a series of erratic manuevers, not knowing that the warnings were coming from her own comrade.
Thankfully, Ivan wasn't distracted by his superior's string of profanities, as the Flanker was too busy trying to stay on Chastity's tail. He hoped to slowly lead his enemy into his gunsights, where no radar warnings would be able to warn her of what was about to hit her.

Chastity accelerated to get the Flanker off her tail, and looped high above him. It was then that two other aircraft showed up on her rader, still represented by symbols in her visor display. Who the hell are they?
Yvonne and Elspet had travelled an hour or two towards the location they'd been given. The old Stearman's info had been good. They had not, however, anticipated that the F-35's would be there so soon.
Oh, scrap...

(((((OOC: Ummmmm.... sorry if I haven't been participating in this RP for almost a week, but I'm badly stuck and really can't think of anything to do with Nerina or with the Russian spy sub.... I'm so out of ideas, but I'd really like it if I can somehow do SOMETHING here than just sit on the sidelines and watch the aircraft have fun because that just really sucks for me.... I don't want to be pushed out of another RP....)))))

Ivan followed after her, his kind's characteristic agility just enough to prevent him from losing the F-35. He was struggling to line up his auto-cannon with the other plane, and therefore too busy to notice the two extra blips on his radar.

Caleb's orders were relayed through his officers to the rest of the fleet. They were making a call at Singapore.
Two delta-winged silouettes powered towards the scene of the fight, their afterburners flaring and their attention on the five aircraft duking it out a few miles ahead. Their configuration might have been quaintly retro, but their avionics and armament packages were up-to-date and their airframes in top shape. They were here and loaded for bear... Russian bear.

((Sorry for the delay...gotta juggle all these RPs and schoolwork.))
"<<Heads up, guys!>>" Mikhail radioed, "<<We've got two bogeys approaching, their IFFs don't show them as American!>>" "Scrap," Alek grumbled, not finding the right word in Russian for the situation, before turning up the afterburners to go after his current target. Whomever he was pursuing now would have to be good to evade two pairs of eyes.
He just hoped he could catch that F-35 before whomever was arriving caught it...or him.
