Let's start off with a WTH moment. I've got subscriptions to Motor Trend and Car & Driver, though the post office here is about as reliable as an Edsel, meaning that most of the time I get only one per month and sometimes none at all. ;_; Anyhoo, I lawled at what appeared in C/D's Ms. Goodwench editorial cartoon this month: How to BREED the Perfect American Car.

Haha...awesome. It's actually common on car forums to see people describing cars that look like a combination of two other cars by saying stuff like "[Insert Model here] looks like what happened [Insert Model Here] and [Insert Model Here] had a wild night out." So we're not the only ones who think like that. From what I see, it says that for American car companies to succeed, they have to combine qualities of their common affordable cars with those from their expensive "halo" cars.(A "halo car" is a car that's meant to improve the reputation of a brand rather than sell in big numbers. The Dodge Viper is an example of a halo car...it never sold very much but it helped other cheaper Dodge models get sold.)
