Delfina had already switched off her radio so she didn't hear the PA announcement for Ebony's missing twins. She went with Jason to the chasm.
"I suppose I would have to learn focus first, then masquerade," said Delfina, "Which one would be more important?"

"The Focus is more imporant, since it can also be applied to more than one school of magic." Jason said. "It simply allows you to concentrate of what is outside of your senses. In regards of illusion, it will allow the illusion to be seen where you don't see it. In other, for example the signature move of the Grayston, the lightning bolt, it can be cast on a target that is out of their visual range. So long as you have some idea of where you want your target, be it the illusion or anything else, then you can focus on that spot."
"There are several ways to do this. Some with photographic memory, or know the place well, choose to do it from just memory, knowing where things are outside of their visual range. Telepathies choose to have an 'out of body' experience to have an overview of what is going on, and therefor both control their own body and be able to focus on what is outside of the body's visual range. Then there is the Flow. You can use it to sense where things are, such as persons or animals. Then you can with the image of the layout fresh in mind do the illusion. I choose to do a constant low-level sweep of the area. That way I can 'see' my illusion because of the power output from it, and keep it where it should be."

Elvira and her kitchen crew heard the PA announcement and paused to get the details, since it had been preceded by an alert tone deliberately calculated to jolt people to attention for information that really mattered. They further added that if anyone saw the twins, chirping would get their attention. The crew chief shrugged and went back to her business. Things were going a bit easier in the kitchen since the cooks from the NORAD contingent joined the staff, and they already knew how to cook for a large crowd.
"Uh oh.." Liska glanced around for any sign of errant Viper babies. "We'd better keep an eye out for them."

(((Got it back up.)))
Phoenix mumbled a bit as she woke up hearing the announcement over the PA. "Wha... going on?"

Delfina nodded. "Okay. Will you show me how then?"
* * * * *
The twins had ducked under the tables and watched what was going on in the kitchen.
* * * * *
Ebony stayed beside Kendall, but she was very worried about her twins. Where would they go off to?
* * * * *
Ricardo woke up as well, listening to the announcement on the PA attentively. "I think," he said slowly, "that the twins have gone missing in the mountain somewhere..."

One of the line cooks was seasoning a soup mix with a shaker of oregano. He placed it close to the edge of the cabinet beside the stove and gave the pot a stir, but the returning motion of his arm knocked the plastic shaker off to the floor, where it rolled under one of the tables, moving back and forth as it came to a standstill.
"We'll look in every possible place." Kendall promised as he accompanied Ebony down the hall. "And everyone else is on the lookout." He hoped the twins hadn't gone someplace where adults of their race couldn't follow.

"Wha..." Phoenix said suddenly getting to her tires. "You mean they've run off somewhere."

Once the shaker rolled to the stop under the table, Kestrel crept up to it and sniffed it. The scent, to him, was too strong. "A-choo!"
* * * * *
"I just hope they haven't gone anyplace where we can't reach them," said a worried Ebony as she drove down the hall.
* * * * *
"Yeah," said Ricardo, also getting to his tires, "That's going to make Ebs really worried. If they wandered away from her, I just hope that they hadn't gone anyplace where they could hurt themselves."

"They're no where in the court," Phoenix said sweeping over the center court. "And I don't think that they would go into the tunnels."

The sound of a child's sneeze brought all activity in that section of the kitchen to a standstill. People were looking around to locate the source of this noise, peeking under tables, around appliances and behind cabinets.

"How about we begin with how well you can focus now." Jason said. "Bring up an illusion I can see, then let it slowly circle you, expanding the radius by each lap."
"Any idea where they could have gone?" Daniel asked Liska.
((May be slow, studying))

"That could only mean one thing," said Ricardo, raising his nose and breathing deeply, trying to pick up on the twins' cent, "They've gone to the more public areas."
* * * * *
Kestrel shook his nose as he tried to get away from the oregano scent and backed up. He wanted to get out of this place, so he and his twin brother worked their way through the kitchen without getting noticed and continued to explore. Maybe this time they'll come across a place where nothing will not mess with their senses.
* * * * *
Ebony began to pick up some very strong scents as she neared the kitchen. It was not possible for her to eat what the humans eat, but what they made was interesting to say the least. Was this where the twins went?
* * * * *
Delfina nodded and brought up the water sphere, letting it coalesce in front of her, then tried to let it expand slowly.

Barney, the line cook who was still looking for his shaker of oregano, went looking under the table and sighted two small shadows retreating beneath it. Remembering what the announcement had said about chirping, he tried a few chirps, but they came out more like chicken clucks.
"If they were in the public areas, they would have been seen by now." Liska frowned. "They might have gone someplace where full-grown cars wouldn't be able to follow."
Buck nodded to Amelie, having seen her around before. Saul smiled, a bit more shyly. Both were very similar in build and size, but Buck was older, had blue-grey eyes, and when viewed up close displayed the battle scars of a military veteran who had seen actual combat. Saul had a clear, unmarred surface, but was still very new to things, glancing about with eyes of a shade of mahogany.

The twins had already left the kitchen and were now going down the hallway, looking for someplace else to explore, unaware that they were worrying their mother.
* * * * *
Ebony huffed uneasily and was getting very worried because she couldn't enter the kitchen as the doorway was much too small for her, so she just resorted to just trying to peek in to try to see if her twins were in there.

"That would then be some of the caves, kitchen, the inner kennels and apartments." Daniel said. "Am I missing something?"
When the walls of the sphere passed Jason, he looked around for any unwaivering, especially behind Delfina and to her sides. "Something uniform as this helps you with the focus, since you have to contain one large object which is pretty much similar if not identical of what is in front of you." He saw the flickering at a considerable distance. "This is okay for uniform shape. How about something single and small behind you?" He made an example, a titanium dragon behind him but slightly to the side so Delfina could see it. He never even looked at it. "Just make it a water sphere so we don't drain you too fast."
