"Oh, geez, are you starting to quote villians from bad spy movies now?" Ebony rolled her eyes at Bart, and then spoke in a bad German accent, "Ve have vays of makink you talk. That's the lamest line I've ever heard. Sorry, but even if you tie me up and beat the living scrap out of me, I won't talk."
Her side spikes suddenly sprang out, awfully close to puncturing the two SUVs' tires out, "Now call off Stupid and I'm With Stupid or things will start to get nasty."
(((((OOC: She's just egging him on, isn't she? XD)))))

"I'm willing to chance them," Bart growled pulling in close to Ebony. "Losses can be expected in a case like this."
The SUVs exchanged worried glances from either side of the Viper.
((Yup, and doesn't help with his aggression problem either.)))

"Intimidation isn't going to work with me, but I think you already know that by now, don't you? I lived a long time on the streets to know that only cowards trying to prove something do that," said Ebony, "So sorry, but you lose."
She flicked her spikes menacingly.

The SUVs shifted nervously, this wasn't in the job listing.
Bart just grinned. "No I haven't," he growled, but not before giving Ebony a rim-kick. "Take her down to the basement."
(((Now he's gone and thrown gas on the fire.)))

Ebony hissed and growled at the rimkick. She glared right at Bart. "That was the most dangerous and stupidest mistake that you'll ever make!" she snarled.
Swiftly and without warning, Ebony lunged and jammed her spikes right into Bart's fender. As quickly as she had attacked, Ebony pulled back, and angry glint in her eyes.
(((((OOC: Bart will have more reason to get revenge on Ebony for that. The SUVs can try to take her down to the basement, but I want to have her escape somewhere in the middle...)))))

"You little..." Bart roared and glared at Ebony, mumbling a few Latin words under his breath. "Take her down, I'll be there shortly."
The SUVs nodded and herded her back to the elevator and while one shoved her in the other fumbled for the card key.
(((Not a problem.)))

Ebony just grinned as she was herded into the elevator by the SUVs. Perfect. This is all going according to plan. Let him think he has me, but I have a little surprise for him. She was glad that she had managed to get those spellbooks.
She watched the numbers in the elevator go down. From taking a quick glance at the wall map in the front lobby, she determined that there was a way out of the basement. She managed to memorize the layout. Ebony will let them take her to the basement, but she was not going to let them lock her up. Oh no. She had something in store once they got there. Now she just had to wait for the right moment to bolt.

The elevator creaked to a stop as it reached the basement. As the door opened the SUVs guided her out.
(((And its that time again, and off to work I go, please puppet until I should get back tonight. And what Bart said under his breath was the tracking spell. Laters.)))

"Hey, guys," Ebony said suddenly, "I got a riddle for you. How do you hold a Viper down?"
Waits a beat. "You don't! Because she'll bite you when you least except it! HA!"
She wrestles her way out of their grip and bolts out of the elevator, heading toward the backexit of the hotel. Being equiped with a V10 engine, she was fast and powerful, and easily outran the two larger SUVs, losing them in one of the many corridors, which were more to Ebony's advantage.
Ebony broke through the doors and charged outside, skidding a bit before straightening out on the asphalt, and took another route away from the building. She hoped that Misty, who had been watching the whole thing, took this moment to leave as well. She wanted nothing bad happening to the little autogyro.
She headed back toward where Brett was waiting for her.
(((((OOC: Got it. See you later.)))))

<<< Oh, Bart is gonna be hopping MAD! >>>
Misty, on seeing Ebony emerge, quickly took her leave, using a circuitous, carefully indirect route to take her back to the little airport where she and her friends made their home. Brett, Sharon, Randall and the others were waiting anxiously for her. Brett was hoping Ebony knew enough to lose her pursuers before coming back here. The last thing they wanted was trouble at home.
<<< FYI: In the Carsverse, autogyros are their own separate species, helicopters evolved from them, but gyrodynes, a different class of rotorcraft, are helicopter/airplane hybrids, and like mules, are sterile but have their uses.>>>

(((((OOC: He put a tracking spell on Ebony, but she doesn't know it and she's never learned Latin...)))))
Ebony weaved in and out of traffic to lose any more pursuers that she might have on her tail. She took several short-cuts through alleyways and other streets in random directions to confuse her pursuers. She succeeded in this and barrelled out of a sidestreet, heading toward where Brett was waiting for her.
She had a few dents, but those were nothing to worry about now. The spellbooks now rested safely in her compartments and she was glad that she didn't have to linger in Vegas any more than necessary. She had done what she had come to do and now she just wanted to go back to Colorado.
After another 20 minute drive, in which she stuck to one of the backroads to throw off Bart, Ebony returned to the landing site, covered in dust.
(((((OOC: So they're like endangered species...)))))

Brett was waiting for Ebony. Kathleen had insisted on him going through a few rites that he couldn't see the sense of, but what she said were "protective" spells. She'd also warned him that he'd better take an indirect course back. He had told Sharon and her husband of the risks if Grayston found his way at least this far.
"I'm sorry for causing you this trouble." the corners of Brett's mouth drew grimly as he spoke.
The gyrodyne couple were grave, but dealing with it. "We can move for a few months, but we don't know what to do about Misty. She has no other place to go right now and she's not up to a long trip with strong winds."
"How about taking her with us, aboard one of you?" Brett asked. "Of course, it would be up to her, but if Grayston finds his way HERE and connects any of you or your friends, it won't be good for anyone."
"There she comes." Randall turned as a tiny green speck came out of the sky. "We'll tell her."
"And there's your friend." Sharon alerted as Ebony showed up.

"Sorry, I'm a little late," Ebony apologized as she drew up, coughing from the dust that she had acquired from her unintended trip on the backroads, "I was held up by you-know-who."

"We're ready to go." Brett told Ebony. "It's not going to be safe for anyone still here if Grayston shows up, so some others might be coming with us." As he spoke, a slightly confused Misty finally hopped aboard Randall, the largest of the gyrodynes present. Brett readied his cabin and cradle. "Sooner we're outta here, the better."
Doc looked down at Raine. "Feeling better? Ready to go back up? You must be hungry by now."

"I have the books," said Ebony, as she drove up the ramp and settled into the cradle again, "We're gonna have to take a more indirect route back to throw off Grayston. I'm sorry, it's my fault for getting you all in this mess."
