<<<While we're waiting to resume the fight, I'll catch up on in-town doings.>>>
Darcy waited with Melody, along with Sally. Elizabeth was pacing the back lots, awaiting Buck's arrival. Soon, he could be heard coming in.

(OOC: Back. Well.... I have to say I have the world's most awesome boss for placement/internship. He sounds exactly like Shroder (Yes! He has the accent!) and he's pretty much been extremely nice to me today and a lot of fun. XD )
((As my big characters have nothing to do, I'll take control of Boo for a while. I'm finally starting to get sick of being idle.))
The foxdog may not be the brightest animal on the planet. But the individual, known to RS locals as "Boo", in question had his instincts. He didn't answer to anything except them. His feelings dictated most of his behavior, whether he was in a playful mood, curious, on edge, depressed.
Or - in this case - just plain worried. About what, he couldn't tell. He just felt it.
Boo tilted his hood, studying the gray-and-white individual resting in the alley. The same one he'd bitten a week before. Didn't he see the obvious nervousness the smaller creature harbored? Didn't he care?
A smarter being may have asked these questions. Boo simply took it as being typical of this aero's temperament. It was part of the reason the foxdog hung around; he knew he didn't like not having some form of company once and a while.
A venture around town wasn't out of the question. He knew as long as he behaved, and didn't run into that smalltrack kit, his "master" wouldn't bat an eye. He whined once again, and seeing that it evicted no change in expression, Boo slowly stood up from lying in the dirt, and wandered off.

After having been secured aboard Buck, Ebony took those few minutes of flight to rest for a bit until they got back to town. She wasn't feeling well at all and after having experiencing being kidnapped and her life, as well as her baby's, threatened by Mariatti, Ebony wanted no more of that.
What she wanted was peace... and to recover from her second relapse.
Besides the back alleys of Radiator Springs' mostly abandonned shops, there were plenty of other places for a little animal like Boo to investigate. He had to do something to occupy his attention. Stray garbage had always proven to be entertaining. In the first few minutes away from the alley beside Marisol's, he managed to procure an old, weather-beaten, cardboard box.
It was just large enough for him to squeeze his front half inside. One of the corners was missing, and Boo sniffed at it, curious. Satisfied with his up-close inspection, he moved to back out of the box.
It came as a surprise when he found himself stuck. Half in, half out, the foxdog growled in annoyance. His back wheels were free, and they spun as he attempted to disengage himself from the box.
Five minutes elapsed. Boo wandered, in meandering circles, all the while, unable to see where he was going. He yelped once as he felt himself finally back into something. Or someone, he couldn't tell.

Who Boo had run into was Amber, the dark red Trans Am that was pacing around and waiting for the rescue party to return with Ebony safe and Mariatti capture.
"Oh," she said, turning around, "Where'd you come from? Are you stuck?"
Boo made a clumsy attempt to turn around, to face whoever spoke to him. He could only see what was immediately outside the torn-off corner. When he stopped to check his other senses, he smelled another car, one he had not encountered before.
Foxdogs had a general understanding of simple words. Boo didn't have to think to translate what Amber said. He guessed, as only a simple animal can guess. In reply, he made another effort to shake the box off, with a half irritated, half self-pitying whine.

Suddenly free again, Boo blinked fiercely, but his eyes quickly readjusted to the sudden change in light. He looked from left to right, trying to find his bearings again, before settling on looking up at Amber. He tilted his hood at the Trans Am, studying with both ears and eyes, listening as she spoke again.
He responded with a thankful yip, his playful nature resurfacing, finally putting it together that she had helped him out of his perdicament. The reddish-brown foxdog crouched on his wheels, tilting his hood to one side, before reering up and placing his foretires on Amber's prow, resting his chin on her hood.

"He's here." Darcy pointed out Buck as he approached. Melody was not going to be restrained from going to her daughter, and headed out to meet the helo as he touched down. Darcy followed, and they stood beside Elizabeth while Buck's blades came to a stop. Johnny and Trav were coming back from the Butte, and stopped to regard the scene in puzzlement.
"Ebony again?" Johnny asked. Darcy nodded. "Mariatti kidnapped her, and she got sick again."
"That b*st*rd." Johnny growled. "Now there's a guy who deserves to be locked up for good."
Marisol had heard a bit of a racket in her alleyway, and poked her nose outside to see what was going on. <<< For the new players: Marisol is a wine-red GTO Judge who just converted an abandoned store into a textile arts studio. She's one of my "background" characters>>>

((I'm drawing a lot of inspiration from how my mom's dog, Toby, acts here. He can be both a little cutie, and a little pain in the bumper. Your usual well-rounded pet.))
Boo instantly perked up at the mention of "play". He barked an immediate affirmative, then jumped back into a playful crouch, quivering with excitement.

Marisol went out into the alley and started breaking up boxes. She didn't want Boo to get caught in them again.
"Ebony?" Darcy called out as Buck's cabin door slid aside.
