I just posted this on the IMDb board, but I thought that it would be a topic that might draw more attention here...
Car tipping. Yes, you read that right - not tractor tipping, not cow tipping, but CAR tipping.
When Luigo and Guido fainted, they fell over onto their sides. How did they get back up? How many times do we see cars off their tires in this film? In the first crash scene on the track there are two cars roof to roof, which always makes me laugh when I see it - the eyes get me, they're looking at each other and are like "aaaaah"... I guess i'm just thinking, how severe is a situation if a car is off it's tires? We all know that it's not a good situation for actual cars, but where these are beings are things any different?
Just some pre-New Year's Eve Bash musings... be interesting to see what comes of them.

I guess for a car it would be a pretty sucky situation. I'm assuming that if they were flipped on their side they could flip themselves back up with their other tires, but if they were flipped over on their roof they'd need some help. That would probably be embarassing outside of the racetrack lol I guess you wouldn't want to be top heavy otherwise you'd be fliiping over a lot XD

i think they would are flexible enough, if their on their roofs, to flip back over..like in that book "the art of cars" they had some drawing on how cars flexed. maybe like a turtle too? ever seen a turtle on it's back? tis funny XD

if they were completely on there backs maybe the could wiggle the tyres to start rocking then eventually completely rock over back onto all fours. or they could be nice and help eachother back onto there tyres ^_^

What Pookydoc said is true, my tutor last year had turtles and they can flip themselves back over(unfortunately her turtles had to take a great effort....), so I suppose cars could flip themselves back over in the same way, maybe they can use their tailfins or something I dunno...

I imagine a car getting flipped over would be really, really embarassing in the cars world. We'll never know exactley why, but the undercarriage is definatley a "personal" place, going by Lightning's reaction of the Sheriff on the lift.
I imagine they would just have to get a bigger machine to flip them back over.
Or call for help like in that old commercial.
"Help, I've fallen, and I can't get up!"

Cars cars seem very capable of shifting their weight, so uprighting themselves shouldn't be too difficult.
But yeah, it would be damn embarassing. You have to feel sorry for the racecars at the beginning of the movie who got flipped over in front of thousands of spectators and a TV audience.

I think they'd be able to gradually right themselves if they flipped, assuming they weren't badly hurt by the rollover. I imagine if a car was alone and had no friend to shove him back onto his tires, he would try to shift weight from side to side until he could roll back upright. This is probably when a rounded frame would be better than a boxier SUV shape.

Whatever works for a certain car. I'm sure a VW New Beetle or BMW Isetta would have a much easier time rolling over than a Hummer H1 or a Cadillac Escalade xD
