"Water?" Doc looked over to the pitcher and cups on the side table.

Raine nodded, "Yes please... I'm too weak to get my head up without getting really dizzy though..."
(((Anyone know where Ebony went?)))

Doc went up and carefully filled a cup with his antenna wound around the pitcher handle. It wasn't an easy trick to manipulate objects that were never designed for the use of the people of his world. The plastic cup had a handle, which helped as he lifted it over to Raine. "Here you go."

Raine nodded in thanks and sat up at about a milimeter to avoid getting dizzy and took a few sips, slowly finishing her water before letting her head fall back on the pillow, panting slightly from exhaustion.

Doc replaced the cup and wiped away any spilled drops. "A little more sleep would do you good, kiddo."

Raine nodded weakly, closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep as Doc tucked her in and made her as comfortable as possible...
((okay, NOW I'm ready... might want to get things moving to the next day since Ebs is getting pissed at both of us...))

The dawn reached the camp in bright fingers of light, casting lengthy blue shadows across the plains. Smoke still curled up from the fires as people stirred awake, visited the camp toilets, washed up with whatever was available, and checked out the racks of meat that had been cooking overnight. The aircraft and cars were also awaking, stretching and shaking off the last of the drowsies in the surrounding area. In the distance, a herd of big-horned bison was moving, and some people stood awestruck at the sight of the massive creatures.
Darcy awoke and checked on the goats, giving them their morning feed and changing their water.
Doc stirred, snoring as he lay by Raine's bed.

Raine woke up slowly to loud snoring, opening her eyes to see Doc sleeping soundly beside her. She winced before going into another series of honking coughs, and gagged a little after she calmed her breathing down. She noticed that the med staff had taken the oxygen tent down, which was a relief to her, knowing that she could see Doc more easily now.
"Ngh... Hey Dad..." She greeted.

(((((OOC: I PM'd her about it already...)))))
Delfina woke the next morning to the wonderful aroma of cooked meat. This made her stomach growl with immense hunger and she sat up, still huddled in her blanket because it was cold. She reached out to to grab one of pieces that was near the fire, then taking it and holding it in her hands, she bit into the succulant deer meat, savoring the juicy flavor.
~~~~~
Also near the fire, another being awoke. Ebony had fallen asleep by the fire, the heat radiating from the flames warming her flank. This was the second night that she had been away from her twins and now wanted to be back with them as soon as possible.
She watched Delfina eat and didn't mind that she was only restricted to fuel and fuel-related solid foods. Why would she want to eat anything the humans ate anyway?
Ebony was in a terrible mood this morning, so, after stretching a bit, she moved off without a word, not wishing to be social.
<<< OK, thanks Ebony >>>
Others were also tucking into the elk meat, which had been roasted overnight and seasoned with wild onions. The elk had been large beasts, of a species that was extinct in the interglacial era of the humans' native world.
Julian awoke with a grunt and propped himself up. The aroma of braised meat was like a hook in his nose. "Morning, Delfina."
Strip noted Ebony's terse mood as she went by. "Don't bother her right now, Lightnin'."
"Morning, Raindrop." Doc lifted himself up to check on the girl. "Feeling any better?"
Raine nodded, "I don't feel as dizzy as I did yesterday... but my pneumonia's still there... Thanks for taking such good care of me..."
