"Vacationing In Georgia RP" a Dukes Of Hazzard homage player/character list coming ASAP, just as soon as we figure out who's playing and who has pulled out
The officer was beginning to wish he had brought Flash along to work today. Her company would have given him someone to talk to. One of the many things he loved about that hound was how she could keep a secret. He had long suspected that was why he had never felt the same way about the women in his life: the risk of them gossiping anything he said was a little too chancy for his tastes. Yet he still took chances on a weekly basis, all in the name of the county commissioner. J.D. Hogg (affectionately and not-so-affectionately known as "Boss" to most). If it weren't for losing his pension twenty-plus years ago, Rosco P. Coltrane would have never sided with the corrupt, money-hungry Boss. It was that, and Boss' being wed to his older sister, Lulu, that kept the fifty-something sheriff from strolling out on the deal entirely. Unusual to the usual method of business, Boss had not revealed the details as to his next scheme to anyone. All Rosco knew was that it involved outside help, and had to do with the Annual Hazzard County Road Rally two weeks off of this Friday. This worried him. Boss had never been so secretive about such things to him before. What made this any different? Rosco wouldn't be shocked to discover it had anything to do with the Dukes. They always got their noses into Boss' affairs one way or the other. The Dodge Monaco had spent most of Tuesday morning trying to figure this out. The weather was A-typical, clear and sunny. Concealed in a shallow, brush-covered ditch off of one of the county's busiest routes, he had done his best to simply go about his duties, ticketing speeders and generally enforcing the law. He let several cars pass that, under "normal circumstances", he would write up simply because there seemed cause to, however ridiculous that cause may be. Between busts the sheriff kept to himself, muttering as much as thinking, over the who, what, when, where, and why of Boss' impending plan, and just how much he didn't know about it.

(((((OOC: Hopefully, this helps me introduce my characters...)))))
There was the sound of a Dixie horn coming from the east of the route that Rosco was at. Now everybody knew who had that horn and who seemed to have so much confidance to taunt Rosco or Enos to chase him. It was all in good fun, except for the occasional short stay in the local jail, but his family always came to bail him out.
It was General Lee Duke, tearing down the road at a good clip, laughing and sounding his Dixie horn again. He roared right past Rosco's hiding place, tempting the Sheriff to give chase just for the fun of it.
"Come an' git me, Rosco!" he shouts, "Ah know ya'll want ta!"

Startled out of his thoughts, Rosco's siren snapped on (a habitual occurrence when it came to surprising him) before he squelched the noise. He didn't bother to wonder how Lee knew he was there. The temptation to give chase was one the sheriff had never been good at resisting. Not once had he said "no" to a game of Hot Pursuit.
And perhaps this time it would take his mind off things not worth worrying about... for the moment.
"You asked for it, Lee Duke," Rosco called, as much over the CB as down the road. He broke his cover, swerving out onto the dirt route in a slight fishtail before speeding after the Charger, signal lights flashing over the renewed din of the siren itself. "An' you're gonna git it!"
*
Unknown to either officer or speeder, another set of ears had been listening in on the waves. She grinned to herself. At least that hadn't changed. That simple exchange had brought back a lot of good memories. Now it was just a matter of waiting for either party to reveal a partial location. They could've been anywhere in the county, but the Roadrunner had a feeling they were closer to her position than that.
Maybe, if things became too dicey for Lee, she'd get another laugh by way of lending him some help.

(((((OOC: Yeah...)))))
"This is Lost Sheep calling Shepard. Lost Sheep calling Shepherd," General Lee said into his CB, "Ah got good ol' Rosco on muh tail. Leadin' 'im toward th' Boars Nest. Git Ready."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A white Ford F150 Pickup perked up at the sound of his nephew's voice through the CB telling him about being chased by Rosco. Lee wanted everyone to be ready to surprise Rosco when he gets there.
"10-4, Lost Sheep," Uncle Jesse answered, "Ah read ya loud an' clear. Shepherd out."
((Yes, you're still allowed to join.))
The Boar's Nest. She wondered idly if it was still the spot in Hazzard to catch up on the country happenings. Deciding to leave that for later, downshifted instead, applying her brakes as she made an almost hasty U-turn. Happening or not, that was where they were headed. It wasn't the ideal place to confront her kin, not after so many years of seperation.
But if she could get there in time, at least she'd have a ringside seat for whatever they had planned to pull on Rosco.
*
The sheriff had never been one to think ahead when it came to Hot Pursuit, a flaw that had cost him many chances of roping speeders like General Lee. This schpeal was no exception. He knew that, given the current situation, he'd probably be spared the usual reprimand from Boss if he lost the Charger's trail.
Things being like they were, Rosco would take any dose of normal Hazzard to distract him from whatever Boss had up his wheelwell. The Monaco had a growing feeling of worry in his gas tank that was getting more and more difficult to ignore.
Shaking his hood with a growl, the sheriff recanted the impulse to say he was "almost too old for this" and took the next corner with considerably less control (and talent) than General Lee had. Worry later, he reminded himself, worry later.
(((((OOC: Crazy thought. What if Cooter met Shroder? That would funny. A down-home Southern tow truck meets a kleptomanic British tow truck! XD I should ask Kamui.EXE.)))))
Uncle Jesse Duke turned to the others gathered there at the Boars Nest.
"Alright," he said, "Is everybody ready?"
"Ah am," called Dixie Duke.
"So's I," responded a white tow truck by the name of Cooter Davenport, "Ah got muh trusty tow hook handy if'n ya'll need some help."
"That's good, Cooter," Uncle Jesse nodded his front, "Alright everyone! Git to yer places. Lee and Rosco will be here inna coupla minutes."
And they did so... this was going to be one big surprise for Sheriff Rosco P. Coltraine. Today was his birthday and everyone in Hazzard County turned out for an event such as this one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, Lee was speeding down a familiar dirt road with Rosco hot on his tail. He drifted easily around a curve and was able to reorient himself while keeping at the same speed as before.
And there there was a something up ahead. It was a ledge and Lee gunned for it, determined to leap over it.

((It certainly would be. I'm all for that idea. ;D))
Anna Sue Duke (just "Ann" to most) still knew the roads of Hazzard County as well as on the day she had crossed the county line. She knew several of them terminated at the Boar's Nest. The yellow-and-black Plymouth Roadrunner made a series of turns, a left here, a right after the next two intersections.
In short order, she found herself meandering down the one that came over a small rise. Killing her motor for the time being, she slowed to a coast, turning off the beaten path into the woods. Yellow wasn't the best camouflage against a green-brown backdrop, but if she kept far enough away, she'd be able to scope out the situation through the branches, from a distance.
No sooner than she found that appropriate cover did her ears pick up the roar of a 440 engine not unlike her own.
*
Rosco had known they were heading toward the Boar's Nest. A Hazzard County native, he had felt it on an almost instinctual level. On that same wire he was beginning to smell something other than the fleeing Charger's exhaust.
What're you tryin' to pull, Lee Duke? the sheriff wondered, easing up on the throttle on yet another turn, the one General Lee took so easily. The noise level skyrocketed as the Charger put his proverbial foot down. The older Monaco had chased him enough times, and knew this road well enough, to sense an impending jump before he saw it.
Sometimes Rosco made it; sometimes he didn't.
Heck, why not? He had nothing to lose. Concern for his pride was long gone.

General Lee was still "leading" Rosco toward the Boar's Nest where a BIG surprise was waiting for the old police cruiser. He whooped and leapt off a ledge on occasion just to show off.
They were both getting closer...
(((((OOC: Recap for Numbah = General Lee got Rosco to chase him, as usual. There's a big birthday surprise for Rosco back at the Boar's Nest. And Boss Hogg is planning something sinister and didn't even tell Rosco about it, which is really worrying the Sheriff.
Oh, did you get ahold of Racingfan43 yet?)))))

He knew there was no possible way of catching the Charger. Unless he took the initiative of the chase, and had a decent head-start, Rosco knew there was no way he could out-accelerate General Lee in a side-to-side race. His age and motor-make didn't allow for it.
Rain had been scarce this last month. Rising dust was not in as short supply, and more than once the white Monaco slowed to blink the offending grains out of his eyes. After nearly ten minutes of this, it was starting to wear on him. He just didn't have the usual motivation to keep it up. He was almost beginning to think his energy would be better spent elsewhere.
Around the next turn, the road took a gradual dive, descending in a passable grade that opened up to a clearing at the end. By now, it was plan-as-day to Rosco that Lee was up to something intentional.
Why head for the Boar's Nest? There was nothing, from a pursued point of view, to be gained from going there. Unless you're looking for a place to give yourself up.
I may be getting old, but I'm not that senile yet. Lee Duke never gives up without a backup plan.
((EV, you're free to let this chase reach the Boar's Nest.))

((OKee....welll ummmn.... I kinda have a decent way to introduce Jenna into this because she obviously can't just appear out of nowhere....but I'd like to see an opinon on what someone in this RP would think. *I'll prolly delete this later on due to it's uselessness in the long run.* Ok.....I was thinking of maybe making it so Jenna rolled up into Hazzard County.....seeing as she's a runaway from her little detention center in the place where she's from, she's possibly looking for a place to hide-out for a while until she's forgotten about by the law. Me and racingfan43 had a little AIM RP thing going and in it Jenna told Her character -Alana Lee- about her being a convict but she gets nervous being around or seeing Rosco *even tho he seems too dumb* because she -Jenna- has a serial number that's burned into her back fender abver he wheel well that if one were to type it into a police computer data base, they could tell the athorities at the detention center -in which she escapsed- about her where-abouts. SO! lol....I know this is alot to follow....but yeah that's what I was thinking about for an idea to introduce Jenna into this RP......What do you think? Anyone?))
