Well, it's official: I have the new Cars Mater-National video game & it is awesome. I just started playing it a few hours ago & I'm already good at it. And those new characters look great & they're playable as well.
Update: Already beat it. Which handheld system should I try next, the DS or the GBA?

hm... i must be the only person to see the game as a waste of 40 bucks... it's just as glitchy, loadscreens after load screens, and less characters to be played then the first...
it's ok but not much higher then that...
the only up side to it is Koji Moto... >>... caues he looks like a mix of the DRH

Oh and Sarge, Filmore & Luigi are playable in Arcade Mode. As well as the return of the New York race cars, Tommy Joe & the Demolition Derby cars, the British cars, the Monster Trucks, Snot Rod (that's good), Frank, the Tractors, as well as Fred's first video game appearance since the movie.

Fred's in it?! At least they made an attempt to get a few more movie characters in the game. I was hoping to hear the demolition derby cars would make another appearance.
Thanks for the reviews; based on them I think I'll wait until it hits the bargain bin and buy it then rather than shelling out $40. *Sigh* After all, I should beat the first Cars game before I buy another. As much as I love gaming, I don't have the mad skillz and still can't beat the demolition derby level. :/

Beat it in one sitting last night. Worth a rent to satisfy your curiosity, definitely not worth purchasing. The entire game has almost nil for story, the animation and voicework is still horrible.... I did have fun playing as Sarge and Fillmore, though, but it gets repetitive fast. The first game was actually more enjoyable. As much as I love gaming, I don't have the mad skillz and still can't beat the demolition derby level. :/ That level actually took me a few tries to beat. Which is saying a lot for the Cars game. It was pretty hard. Wish I could help you! I would beat it in exchange for cookies.

I'd like to see Emma face-off against Otto. The two just seem so...familiar.

I haven't played Mater-National yet(don't have the time), but I've read about the new characters...although I have a thing for Otto and his German-ness(not to mention that his obsession with speed reminds me of my charrie John Bachmann), Gudmund is supposedly based on an Audi Quattro, and that can only be a good thing. Disappointing to hear about its quality though...looked like it had potential. Oh well, might still be worth a playthrough. Oh, and like Amethyst said, screenshots of the new characters would be appreciated.
