Lightning McQueen: Headlights or none.

Do you think Lightning needs some headlights if he drives at the dark, WITHOUT Mack?

If he's going to stray far from the well-lit streets of Radiator Springs, he'd probably have to have them by law. He had a lot of trouble seeing where he was going when he was lost on the Interstate and the Peterbilt yelled at him for not having his lights on, so I would guess there's not only a law regarding headlight use (if you're not a racecar, in which case you'd be in a carrier) but a practical reason for having them.

Yeah, its like the cars equal of trying to walk in the dark. i.e. Hard to do!

Naw he don't need no headlights yo... that would involve a lot of pain ta get them cut in..

I don't think he needs them he is a racecar and since the other racer's don't have headlights either he probably shouldn't, they'd find some to use it against him.

No, I don't think he's gonna get them. Mostly because he's a racecar, and they may impede him on the track somehow. He doesn't have rear view mirrors for the same reason, I imagine. Just because he's going to live a civilian life doesn't mean he can change his "body" - he still has a racecar career. He just needs to make sure Mack or someone else is with him when venturing into un-lit roads, I suppose.

Didn't he get rear-views installed on the top of himself, presumably by Mater? Else he couldn't have done the "Backwards Driving" scene at the final race.

Those aren't rear-views, I think they're like spoilers for the front end when the car goes backwards. He has them in the very beginning, I could get a screenshot if you like.

Same thing to my race car, but it still needs headlights.

I'd say Lighting might need them. Maybe he could have 'pop-up lights', when he's on the track... Leave 'em down. Off road, up!

Pop-up lights? Like a corvette & a miata?

Yeah, like a Miata or an older 'Vette. The newer Covettes don't have pop-ups.
