Hmmm... just thinking out loud here...
This old Viper that just happens to look like Ebony (spikes and all) might possibly be somewhere along her genetic family tree. He could be something of an estranged great uncle of hers that she never knew about. Sending the map and goblet to her might be his way of telling her that she's inherited some kind of fortune of his or something.

I was thinking about that, too... that's kind of where I was going with it.

Well, since Ebony's father was a Mistubishi Eclipse and her mother was Dodge Viper, that means that Ebony is a mix of two different clan lines. But on her mother's side, she's half-Navajo (explains why she ordered that shipment of Navajo artifacts for the museum). Perhaps way back on her mother's line this old Viper comes from, and he might be her great uncle. Who knows, maybe we'll find out more as the RP progresses.

I think the inheritance idea is possibly the most believable... I also heard once for someone to believe something, they have to find out on their own...So it would help for Eb to discover her heritage on this Treasure hunt, plus fall into a small fortune. What a grand day that would be for her and her family

Yes it would be good news to her family indeed. Perhaps she picks up little clues, like puzzles to solve, along the way that gets her one tread closer to her eventual fortune

"White Lake, Colorado"....is this a real place? I am googling, MapQuesting, GoogleEarthing, and even Rand McNallying it...and only White Lake I can find is in Michigan O.o;
I think I missed something somewhere, but a little help is in order, me thinks. Should we just wing it?

I think it might be made up like Radiator Springs, Arizona is. But there is a town called Cortez, Colorado which could be a town that White Lake could be next to, possibly.

White Lake was made up... like Radiator Springs. I needed something that sounded native.

Sounds native enough... ^_^
Now, I've been trying to think what kind of clue that they're going to find once they get to White Lake, but I've not been having any good ideas lately for various reasons. I would appreciate some feedback and suggestions. Thanks.

I will say if the old man is trying to get Eb to find something, it wouldnt be out of the ordinary for the tribe to be performing a spiritual guidance ceremony....like Insane suggested. Its possible

And this would be the first time that Ebony has encountered a spiritual guidance ceremony, so she really wouldn't know what to make of it once she sees one. She's at the beginning of discovering her Navajo heritage so this would be a learning experience for her.
Her totem animal is the wolf, by the way.
