Hey!
What about an RPG taking place in Europe (maybe especially mid-Europe, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Austria...). I know it can be a bit difficult for the ones who are not from Europe or never visited some countries there, but if a few players are in who are from there (me for example) it might be no problem. (I never was in the US and have absolutely no clue "how" it is there so I'm in a similar position... ;D ) So what do you think?

Ohey, I am so in for that idea I would love to make one which is a bit into Rallye overall... though not as theme, just like a part of an RPG...

Ooooooh. Glimmer's home turf. XD Maybe they could congregate at the tracks (Hockenheim, Nurburgring, A1-Ring, Monaco, etc.) or clubs or something. It'd be interesting to see how local landmarks and cities/towns/villages there are "converted" for automotive use.
P.S. Many sincere apologies to Suzi for Glimmer's usage of the German Sch-word earlier in the Track Time forum. ;.=.;

Oh yeah, I'm really open for everything and doing somthing at the Nürburgring, A1-Ring, Hockenheim, Monaco etc. sounds interesting. Oh and I think the "Großglockner Hochalpenstraße" would be "THE" drifting playground. ;D Beautiful curves... XD Eh and the Sch-word is harmless. XD Oh and jsut one thing, you really should not use Babelfish to translate something in German, *ouch* it makes my eyes hurt *lol* You cannot translate English into German just from word to word, sometimes you need more words and the word order is also completely different.

I've never really been to Europe (but my brother has been to Amsterdam) and I really don't know a thing about what goes on there, what the events are, how the terrain is, the language of all the different countries (I only know English and I'm from America), or what the culture is like. So that means I'm going to need a lot of help from the rest of you Europeans if I introduce a character that's visiting from America.
Besides, it would be fun if I'd be allowed to join.

I'd join too but Europe might be a challenge for me because I haven't been there. Also my skills with the German language can only be summed up with one word to which I'm NOT saying.
However, my French skills are alright. It's a little more of the Qubecquois dialect than the European dialect with a little "Anglise" thrown in.
But just to be on the safe side, maybe the RP needs to be a little more travaler friendly because there are some of us who really haven't been off our own contient (Well.... my ansestors have since I'm of Celtic/Ukrainian descent... but let's not get in to that...) So do you think you can help us out?

I love writing about different countries in the Cars world...that was pretty much what my old Cars fanfic idea was about, a tour from Spain to Hong Kong. Unfortunately, it never got off the ground.
I don't know what to do about this RP though...Cam loves travelling, so finding a way to get him to Europe is no problem. But finding something for him to do in Europe is a bit difficult, seeing how he is no racer.(The type of rallies he participates in are completely different than Detlef's. Much slower and rougher.)
Although it'd be sort of funny if I get my tuner character in this...that way, we'll have all of Hillbilly Hell's Benz characters in one spot. They'd probably hate each other's guts(fuel pumps?) though.
And I know a thing or two about Europe...I've been to the UK, France, Spain, Greece, and Cyprus.

Everybody is welcome and I think it is really not difficult, I mean it is in English, there are just a few words and places that appear. If there are some special words used we can explain them. Oh well, I cannot say really exact what the differences between Europe and USA are, because I never was in the US. XD I just know a few. The whole thing takes part in Germany now (the places may change) and so I will try to explain the differences there... Most important measuring unit is "Kilometer" km and km/h (1 km = 0.621 miles). I'm so accustomed to using km that I'm allways totally conufsed when somebody talkes about miles and mph. But I don't think that this will be needed that often, other measuring units are °C instead of °F and Liter instead of Gallons. The landscape is very on the most parts very hilly, lots of mountains and big forests (especially coniferous forest), you can maybe compare it a lil bit with Canada. German words that may appear are: Autobahn = motorway DTM Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft = German Touring Car Championship (this will be extended if needed). You can just enter and have fun, the only thing which might be also helpful is to know a bit about rallyes and maybe the DTM. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rallying (the german page is a bit better depending Europan ones but yep, it is in german...) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsche_Tourenwagen_MeisterschaftEDIT: Oh and for stuffs which a car can do if it is not racer. There are very famous roads especially in the alps which are worth a visit or you can become a "Autobahn Raser" XD (due the fact that there is no speed limit on the biggest part of the motorways in Germany you can drive very fast and call attention at you, but the police especially the "Autobahn Polizei" does not like it if you drive faster than 180 km/h - 112 mph...

Heh, I don't really think that the Eurobase RPG is too "eurobased" *lol* In the moment the events take place in "Kolbenheim" which is a fictional state supposed to be in germany (Kolbenheim means "Piston's home" translated ) So we have a nice mix up between the popular Hockenheim and the Piston Cup.. *lol* just a sidenote tough... There aren't really any NASCAR based car races in europe (driving in a stadium) or if so they aren't really the popular type, besides Formel Racing there is Rallye and Tourenwagen Racing which is quite popular in all central states of europe. (exactly what the RPG is about) The Rallye type I mentioned so far, the "DirtLane" is a one way track through the "wild terrain" there is a way, but it isn't more than an earth trail. You drive alone against the time, it is possible that you meet your pre-starter if he stuck somewhere... but that is really rare. To play as a Rallye car you need at least two characters a driver and a "preacher", the preacher tells the driver (normally as co-driver) how the way is in front of him (left turn, uphill.. whatever) You can drive alone though it is almost impossible to get good times without that help.. and I saw that already live here... There are a lot of other Rallye types, Mountain Rallye (straight up or downhill) Snow/Ice Rallye (on frozen lakes) AutoCross (more Rallye cars on one track the same time) etc. Other than that, hmmm... well if there is something confusing whatever just ask and the Tuners here do love to meet on Autobahnes! ;D

Still torn on which character to bring into the RP...
Cam desperately needs a place to cement himself on this site after I completely failed in introducing him to the main Cars RP, and bringing him to Europe would be easy. But I still can't find a role for him...
John, my tuner character, would feel right at home on the autobahn. But I'd like to properly introduce him in "In Da Streets" before taking him anywhere else.
Or I could make an all-new European character, of which I already have two concepts bouncing around my head. One is a rallier and the other is a GT racer. Both are Italian.

adrianI already menitoned the BTTC in the running RPG , with stadium racing I meant Touring car races on a oval curse or such where the whole track is surrounded by a gallery, I just know this from Go-KartRaces here in Hungary, Germany or Italy. F1 doesn't really fit in there The Rallye mentioned in the RPG so far would be kind of a qualify race for the WRC. Tracker89The RPG is quite neutral in the moment, we mention Tuner, streetracer, rallye and touring car characters already, so you could easily paste a character in no matter what type he/she would be
