(((((OOC: And this goes to show that I have little idea of the levels of barnstorming in general. XP )))))
"Levels?" asked Petra, "I don't see myself in any level of barnstorming. I've made it an artform all my own while I was growing up."

"Let me reprase that. There are few compeditions, each with the different level of difficulty. Do you rank with the newbies, or are you one of the pros?"

Petra thought for a few moments before replying.
"Well, considering that I grew up barnstorming, I'd say that I'm one of the pros," said Petra.

Thompson nodded slightly and turned the camera forward, indicating that he had enough photographs of the Cessna.
"Thank you for your time, I am going to see if I can snap few more photos of arrivals before I need a fill. The name's Thompson, as you may have managed to catch on the CB."

Blanche Woodman peered out of a large tent, one of many that served as temporary lodgings for airborne visitors to the fly-in. Around her were acres and acres of tents, campsites and temporary structures erected for the event. The recently retired F-111 Aardvark, she of the long nose, was participating in a display put on by a charity raising funds to help old or disabled military veterans. Blanche was still in fine form, but she was ready to help others who weren't so lucky. Campers from all over were still streaming in, and some of the racers had already been here for a week, going through paperwork and qualifying events. One of them, Jenna Jaeger, came down the lane between Blanche's tent and the registration area, accompanied by her black Spitfire boyfriend and several members of the media, as well as a small throng of fans. Jenna, a 21-year-old P-51 Mustang descendant, was one of the up-and-comers in the Open Unlimited class for prop planes, who raced around a course of pylons at speeds over 500MPH. Jenna was decked out in classic "Invasion" colours, black and silver with stripes around her fuselage towards her tail. Her eyes were a dichroic mix of blue and green, and had the look of eagles. She was already known as "The Ice Queen" or "The Intimidatrix"
But, that wasn't what Blanche was here for. And the fundraising wasn't the only reason. She was here to meet a friend. One from a very long time back, who had disappeared in the wake of a politically inspired tragedy north of the border. Yvonne was returning... with her small tribe. It was going to be the biggest surprise in the aviation world.
And this was something Blanche was not going to miss.

((OOC: I guess this'll be the first RP I join here if y'all don't mind, it's nice to see more airborne characters And I do have a question, where does the show take place? Utah? Nevada?)) 'Loose Ray, you have to be loose,' though the fact that this was his first airshow wasn't making him feel too loose. He knew how uptight he was about the whole thing, and no matter how many hours he had practiced, he just wasn't ready for the flight. But that passed him, he realized that he hadn't been paying attention and he was nearly to the show grounds. Several other planes that Ray never thought he'd be so privilaged to see were going in for a landing. It was then that the young F-16 realized how completely awsome this was actually going to be. As he stared down at the mountainous landscape, he was surprised at how un-desert looking the land actually seemed to be, wasn't this area supposed to be desert? Pushing once again his thoughts away, he prepared for a landing.

Second Lientenant Xeron Tradewind was here as part of security and managing the other junior officers. This was an interesting event. She really hasn't been called to the air-races before. This was a first for her. She sat in her tent making final plans before heading out.

Tomo Aoi Exan was on her way over to the Fly-in event as a spectator. She wanted to watch while she was on vacation.

Otter Skywatcher was also on her way to the event too! Hopefully, she'd find some event to enter.... or to crash. She made sure she brought along extra organic fuel with her.

Petra watched Thompson went to do what he said, admiring the other Cessna who had come to take her picture. Hopefully, she'd see herself on the front of tomorrow's newspaper.
But first...
Where is that other fixed-wing who tried to buzz me? Petra thought, looking around for Ari.

Ray circled the space below, quite unnoticed at his altitude. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, he flipped on his radio just in case he heard some directions from someone below or from his boss at headquarters.
All he heard was the buzz and sound of the other planes in the area turning their radio's on or off.
He continued to circle uncertainly, there wasn't much he could do, so he waited.

Thompson looked around and listened. In his experience, a CB call for someone usually just worked once per some number of hours, as the rest of those answering were just citizens which were not worth for the editor to get to the paper.
He heard a roar of a jet, and he climbed up. He knew he had just enough fuel left to climb like that and then land. As he approached the F-16, he took few photos of it. "Hello viper." He said, seeing that he looked nervous and could be in a need of help.

Treece, Buck Sikorsky's younger daughter, was taking some additional supplies over to the Registration area when she glanced into an open tent and happened to see a familiar face. "Xeron? Is that you?"

Xeron perked up at the voice. She turned around.
"Treece? Is that you? Nice to see you again!" said Xeron.

Ray looked over at the sound of a voice, "Oh hello." He said, smiling a little nervously, unsure of what to say.

"Yeah... " Treece grinned. "I'm a volunteer for the Fly-In now," She dangled her official ID. "So I'm doing the general gofer thing. Gofer this, gofer that. Dad and Leslie are here too, only for Dad it's company business, as usual. So what's new with you?"
Jenna proceeded calmly along the lane between the tents, with Malcolm beside her. A boyfriend with a bit of an attitude was an excellent "paparazzi repellent". It wasn't for nothing that Malcolm's nieces called him "Uncle B*st*rd." Only Malcolm was so uniquely devilish as to give his older brother (who he had never really gotten along with) an IRS audit for Christmas. Now, if Malcolm never actually encountered his family while he was here, that would be golden. Hopefully they would be too busy performing their "Battle of Britain" reenactments to notice.
As for the racing front, Jenna had done well in the week's qualifiers, placing her in the top tier of competitors in the Open Unlimited class. The first race on her schedule would be tomorrow at 1PM, at Hilliard Field, the primary racing venue for the event. There were still some slots left to be filled, and there were rumours of competitors coming in from the east. They would be in for a surprise when they saw how big this course was...
