((Not a lot of time. Maybe only a few hours, as we're still on the same day, in mid-afternoon... about. It's all been just a bunch of introductions between various characters and not much else.))

<<<I don't mind the pace much. Nothing wrong with a slower-moving RP IMO>>>
Irene joined the registration line behind the two delta-winged jets, who looked down their well-bred noses at her as she smiled her scar-crossed smile at them. Fast jets and helos didn't always get on that well. Well, she was here, too bad if they didn't like it. The Apache captain sniffed the air, sorting out the mishmash of scents, and knew that Xeron was somewhere about; she'd probably run across the young lieutenant sooner or later.

<<< I just got on and need a few minutes to go over everything. Last I saw, Petra was talking with somebody - Ray I think. Since then, it's basically been introductions and people meeting each other. How about having her wandering about or joining registration if she didn't already, or creating some grief for the security folks?>>>

((Ari's a bit of a prankster, if the start of the RP is anything to go by. I could wrap up his and Lance's conversation so he's free for Petra to interact with.))

(((((OOC: Do that before Petra goes into moping mode...)))))
Okay, so she's now got the lay of the land, registered for the Barnstorming event, which would be two days from now, and basically figured out who's going to be participating in which event. Now Petra was bored and a little bit restless. She wondered what else that she could do besides go around and meet people.

The Mustang and the P-40 continued to make small talk, until Lance abruptly turned away, listening intently to whatever was coming over his CB's speakers.
"Yeah, I'll be there in a bit," he said, distracted, before turning back to Ari, "Gotta go. Something's come up over at the field."
Ari knew better than to interfere. Lance was notoriously prone to follow instructions, as well as give them. "No prob, man. Hasta for now."
The P-40 offered a wry smile before taking his leave. Deciding the area around registration had become somewhat congested, Ari slipped down the alley, to where there weren't as many obstacles. He was a little surprised to see a familiar face there.
"Hey, Petra, what's going on?" he called, offering the Cessna a smile.

"Oh, hi Ari," Petra gave a small smile, "I'm just hanging out here because I'm a little bit bored right now. I have nothing to do at the moment."

The Mustang gave a little laugh as he taxiied over. "You and me both," he replied, then, glancing back up the alley at the crowd at registration, "You register for anything yet?"

"Yeah, I registered for the Barnstorming event," replied Petra, "It's something that I'm good at. But it's not in two days so I have to wait for a bit."

Ari paused to watch as one of the black security helos crossed by overhead. What held his attention momentarily was the much smaller, gray helo that followed after it. Dismissing it, he turned back to Petra.
"Nothing to do, huh?" he repeated, "Again, that goes for me, too. My first race isn't until tomorrow, and I've met about all the new faces I'd care to see for today." He fell quiet again, trying to come up with something, anything. Punctuating his thoughts with a forced sigh, he asked, "Enlighten me. How do you normally deal with your boredom? 'Cause I'm coming up empty when it comes to ideas."

"Well, this is just a hobby of mine, but I would usually do this with another friend of mine," said Petra, "There's this little game that we play with the helos. One of us would fly in front of them and the other one would fly bedside them and make them chase us. But I guess that would be a little bit too dangerous here."

"Hmm..." Ari took this into consideration, wondering if there were any potential "buzz" targets to be taken advantage of. "I read there's one central hanger to the north that's the security force's 'base'. You wouldn't have to single anyone out. It'd be more like rattling a hornet's nest, though."
While he wasn't keen to get into too much trouble, the Mustang had to admit he had nothing else to occupy his attention at the moment.
