'Aw, Man, now you're just teasing me,' Ebony mock-complained mentally, then gave a mental laugh, 'Cut it out, Nix.'

'But its fun', Phoenix grinned as they drove. 'You're the closest I'm going to get to a sister so I'm drinking it up while I can'.

'Heh... always wanted an older sister,' Ebony mused, watching the road and watching for the sign that would take them on the path to the Four Corners, 'It was a bit tough growing up being the middle child had having two brothers.'

'And does he have stories about that', Phoenix smirked. 'Guess it comes marrying into your family.'

'Well, I guess it does,' Ebony smiled mentally, 'If we can find a hotel, we can talk more freely about this if you want.'

'There should be plenty along the road somewhere', Phoenix sent. 'Maybe ask Seth. He's already came this way'.

'I guess so,' agreed Ebony, 'He must be wondering why we're being so quiet. That must look pretty suspicious to him.'

'Very, Phoenix nodded. 'Just tell him were tired and ask him if he knows where there's a place for us to stay'.

'Alright,' nodded Ebony.
She looked in her rear-view mirrors at the semi who had been following them for the past several hours. "Excuse me," she said to him, "but I think we're getting very tired now. Do you know where the nearest hotel is where we could spend the night and that's cheap?"

Well, there's a truck stop about ten miles ahead. $5.00 a parking spot for the night. -Seth replied as he followed the two smaller cars.-

"Well, a truck stop is okay, I guess," nodded Ebony, "and I think we have enough spending money to pay the fee."
"I think we need a break from all this driving anyway," agreed Phoenix.

-Once they arrived at the truck stop, Seth pulled off. This was a frequent stop of his because he drove this route often. It wasn't too shabby of a place, but Ebony and Phoenix were probably the only cars there.-

Ebony and Phoenix looked around at the nearly empty truck stop where they had just pulled into. It was quiet, at least, and were both girls could get some rest if they needed it.
The Viper fished out two five dollar bills and paid the fee for parking spots for her sister-in-law and herself for the night. Both seemed to have gone quiet again, but they were just communicating telepathically with each other for a bit.

The day had been long for her, long, dreary and plain jading. The fading sun in the sky signaled her its time to call it a day and rest her warn out engine. "Darnit, Odie...next mechanic you find, fork out the cash for a check-up girl, you aint runnin' like you use to. Admiral would have you do laps for this sort of 'performance'..." she thought to herself, pulling up to the service desk, handing over the small fee to the attendant with a kind smile before turning to find a spot to give in to exhaustion.
She noted the Semi and two smaller vehicles, and a German couple off in the corner of the lot whispering back and forth to each other, eying her like she was some insect that should be squashed immediately - Puh...Prejudice.

Ebony's and Phoenix's telepathic conversation went like this, concerning Seth:
'I think you're right, Nix,' Ebony admitted mentally, 'He'd be more suspicious of us more than ever if we keep our real intentions away from him.'
'Yes, it's better to let him know what we're really doing,' agreed Phoenix, who shifted on her tires.
The treasure map and goblet were still in Ebony's side compartments. She wasn't sure of taking them out yet, as they were in a public place and might attract unwanted attention. Then she hit upon an idea. Seth thought that she and Phoenix might've been stealing his cargo, but how could he know that the two items that the Viper and the Trans Am had were from his cargo.
She turned to Phoenix again, 'Nix, I have an idea...'
This piqued the Trans Am's interest, 'What is it?'
'Well, remember when the semi, I think his name is Seth or something, said that he thought we might be responsible for stealing some of his cargo?' asked Ebony mentally.
'Yeah?'
'I don't think he really knows that what we have came with his cargo,' Ebony continued, 'It probably wasn't on the list even. We could say that the map and the goblet had been in our family for years.'
'That sounds like a plan,' agreed Phoenix.
Ebony rubbed an antenna across her side, knowing that was where the treasure map and goblet were at inside her compartments, wondering just when the best time was to show Seth what she and Phoenix has on them and readying an explanation.
