"You can bring them along," Phoenix said. "They haven't seen their aunt race for a while."

"If I can get them to cooperate," laughed Ebony, "but they love watching you race and for the next couple of days after that they don't stop talking about you."
She blinked as she thought of something, "I bet they're wondering where their momma is right now and what she's doing."

"Why don't you give them a call," Phoenix said. "It wouldn't hurt. They let jurys call their families."

"And what about Boost and Chase?" asked Ebony, "Have you let them know where you're at?"

"I haven't called him since we left," Phoenix said. "I probably should call him too."

"Well, why don't we call our families before we leave?" suggested Ebony, "To let them know that we're alright?"

"I bet this truckstop has a phone here," said Ebony, getting up, "Let's go look. I have some change to make the phonecalls."

Ebony turned over her engine and drove over to the counter, asking where the phone was and pointed in the right direction. She put some change in and dialed a number. After a few rings, she heard someone on the other end pick up.
"Hello?" It was her mother.
"Mom? Hey, it's me," Ebony said, "How are the twins doing?"
"Oh, they're doing just fine, but they've been wondering where you are," replied Melody, "Except that I couldn't possibly tell them."
"Well... could you tell them that I'm alright, that I miss them and that I love them?" asked Ebony, feeling a pang in her engine.
"Of course I will, Hon," agreed Melody, "I tell them."
"Thanks, Mom," Ebony had a grateful look on her front, "I'll be back as soon as I'm able, okay? But, until then, don't let them miss me too much."
"I will, Ebs Sweetie," Melody readily agreed with her daughter, "Take care."
"Sure, Mom."
The click and the dial tone ended the conversation. Ebony took out a couple of more quarters and dialed Boost's home phone number for Phoenix, letting it ring.

Finally, the line picked up and a male voice answered. "Hello?"

"Great, but Nix, where are you? And Ebs for that matter?" asked Boost, "We've all been wondering where you two went off to without saying anything."

"Jury duty," Phoenix said with a groan. "Its a pain, they're still going through us." She heard a chirp and baby noises on the other end with Boost. "How's Chase doing? I can hear him."
