He nodded, blinking away his tears. The trip to Radiator Springs was supposed to be a vacation, but instead...
Well, he didn't know what to think of it.
He stayed near Maven as she led him back to town. At this point, all he wanted was to talk to his mother and get more answers. The problem was, she was still recovering and had trouble staying awake. Getting the entire story would take a while.

Ebony had gone back to the diner only to tell Melody that she needed to go for a drive. After promising that she wouldn't go too far because of her condition, the Viper left on the Tailfin Pass Route.
Her senses were alert to the scents that were coming to her during that drive. She could identify each one of them and store them away in her memory for later recognizance.
When she got to the top where the Wheel Well was located, she stopped at the ledge and looked down at the town. She still thought that view was pretty. What she was also thinking about was that while she was speaking to Grayston, she could catch a bit of a hint in his voice that he was lying to her. She could easily tell a lie from the truth and could sense that there was something more to the reason of his visit.
I'll find out what it is soon, Ebony thought as she drove on, intending not to stay for too long, Nobody can keep secrets from me for too long.
Ebony headed for one of her favorite spot to be, the cave behind the waterfall. Even though it brought back a lot of bad memories for her, this was the most private place that she liked to be where nobody can either find her or disturb her.
She passed behind the falling water and into the cave, settling down on the cool stone floor with a sigh. At least I'll be at peace for awhile. I don't need any stress that's in town right now.
Jade had gone back to her shop to check on her son, who was thankfully sleeping and that Indigo was taking care of him for her while she was busy with other duties. It would be around evening that she would meet up with Grayston at the Butte and she wanted to be prepared for the encounter that she knew would take place in the Innerscape.
Maven led the way back to the clinic where Anastasia was...
"Reporters are like parasites," answered Boost, "When they see something different they latch onto it in hopes of getting a juicy story to publish in the papers. This is why you mother and I want you to stay away from them."
