"Oh, she and the Weathers want to teach him a lesson." Darcy smiled mischieviously. "So why don't we go back and see what happens? We can pick up something at Flo's too."

"Hmmm, maybe I'll get Ed to take over my shift for awhile," smiled Ebony, "I'd certainly like to go over and watch and I am feeling hungry too so let's go."

The teens accompanied Ebony to Flo's, where the server girl came up with the day's specials. "We got citrus oil shakes today, because Flo knows you like them." the Mazda said to Ebony.

"Great, I'll have that," replied Ebony. She turned to Darcy and Johnny, "Ondine got me the recipe book while we were in Smasherville when I tried the citrus shake at the track cafe once. It's really very delicious."

"I think I'll give that a try." Darcy nodded. Johnny opted for his usual cocoa-cinnamon flavor.
In the meantime, Sybil was getting her tires warmed up, driving up and down the warmup area under the guidance of her crew chief, who was essentially her set of eyes.

It was then that a forest green Dodge Viper pulled into the diner.
"Hi, Mom," Ebony waved at the Viper with antenna, "Hadn't seen you for three days."
Melody pulled into an available stall next to her daughter, "Hello, Sweetie. The Wheel Well got slammed with rallyers and I had to stay up there to sort some stuff out. I just managed to find some time to take a break."
"Well, I'm glad to see you," smiled Ebony.
She gave her daughter a nuzzle. Then she turned to Darcy and Johnny, "Good Afternoon, you two."

"Good afternoon, Melody." Darcy smiled, "I can kinda tell you've been slammed, you've got that GOTTA-GET-A-BREAK look." . Johnny also nodded pleasantly.

Melody smiles and shrugs, "Yes, but that's what you'd get if you run a hotel. It's business and it's how I make money."
"I kinda get how you feel," said Ebony, "Security work is tough."
"Then you'd better take a break," said Melody.
"I know, Mom," nodded Ebony.
Melody smiles at her daughter, "So what has everyone been up to?"

"I'm about halfway finished on the mural." Darcy stated, "Another two days and it should be done."

"That's good," replied Melody, "I'd love to see it when it's finished."

Vince cast one more glance at the S'Bird as he watched the tree light up as he readied to go.

Sybil was listening for the clicks of the tree lights, and her crew chief's prompts over the radio. The pavement felt solid beneath her, and felt right. Even after all these years, she still felt butterflies inside when she was poised to go. A lane to herself, straight ahead for a quarter mile.

Boost, arriving at the edge of town, used his sharp vision to sift through the crowd at the diner a familiar face. He spotted her almost immediately.
"There's Ebs," he pointed with an antenna, "she's over at the diner with Darcy, Johnny, and Mom. Come to think of it. I haven't seen Mom anywhere about lately. I guess the Wheel Well got slammed and she had to stay up there for awhile to sort things out."

(((((OOC: Owsies... that would hurt...)))))
"Yeah, I can understand that," replied Boost, as he headed toward the diner, weaving his way through the crowds and keeping the twins behind him. However, Maven and Krill were excited to see their mother and wanted to rush off to see her.
