Not sure, does this belong in here? If not... I am sorry anybody who makes custom 'cars' diecasts? I made a few already, mainly for fun, it is somehow hard to find any diecasts in the same size of the official die-casts since they have a quite "strange" size for my taste.. or not a common one in european toy standarts... but still here are my latest two, Siegfried the Mercedes SLR and Limo the blue smart, made a photo of them together with some of the official diecasts, I try to get them as close to them as possible any others, any tips? I made a WIP step collection how I made the SLR also, if anybody is interested to see how I made it exactly I can upload and post it here

Very nice. And this is exactly why we have a "miscellaneous" section.

Those are great customs. Ever think about alternate colours for your characters?

I'm working on a few customs. Leakless is becoming my own Burns fire logs car, and Nitroade will be the Apple racer, and another one will be trunkfresh. If I get another, I'll make maybe another racer.

Oh I was thinking about alternate colors, but since these two just have the colors they are supposed to have I just needed to paint the eye and mouth parts.. woah, I never thought that model-lacquer smells that... heavy... Here is how I made Siggy: 1. shows the stuff I used, to cover the eye parts I took white sticky foil, since the painted area always gets' wobbly and nothing stays "that" white foil does + super sculpey for the mouth 2. shows how I get the form of the windows off the car 3. painted the eyes on a cut-out foil 4. covered the snake-skull holes of the SLR (they are quite big) with super sculpey and formed a mouth (the pink parts on there) 5. just a better view... finished the grin 6. painted the mouth and added the eyes 7. compared it with the other diecasts and decided to make the eyelids more 3D adding it with super sculpey 8. before 9. after the added eyelids 10. /11. done

I defenitely must try to make more out of the lil 69' GTO die-cast I got. I just dunno if I will be able to varnish it black.

Concerning the model, here they have one: www.model-car.com/miniature_detail.asp?nr=EGA01459this site has almost all types in all various sizes... hmm.. concerning changing the whole color of a modell, I would try or take a spray color, since brush lacquer gets a wobbly surface, if you take too much lacquer.

Neat stuff. I imagine colour matching of paints must be something of a challenge.

Hmm, I could even animate their eyes and the mouth if I let the sculpey soft and not harden it with a hairdryer (refers to the other treat in the misc. area *LOL*) though, they would all be pink in color... Hehe, but I think the idea is worth a try, I could at least modify some parts on the comp
