They avoid windows and non-painted parts just like normal automotive painters do. They tape it off. (See Lightning getting done up for Radiator Springs) That brings up further questions about how Ramone tapes it, though. XD
As for the flag pole, you've stumped me there. :0

For the flagpole, I'm guessing he gives it a pull with his antenna, then holds the rope to the pole with a tire while he reaches up for another pull. Either that, or spins a tire while holding the rope against the pole, making the rope slide against the metal while it's being pulled. Just some theories...

(See Lightning getting done up for Radiator Springs) Ja, I know that - but my question is how could Ramone do himself that way? And with any kind of precision, for that matter? Maybe he has a digital screen over his body which allows him to change colour at will... (just kidding)

That needs to be implemented soon - and probably will be - in the near future, for real cars. XD

For stringed musical instruments... I envisioned something called a "stringboard", which was basically just that, a board which may or may not have pickups and a soundbox, with strings and frets arranged like a guitar's, but designed so that it could be balanced across the hood and played with antenna and wipers. I could see "guitar" and "violin" variants of this, although to human eyes it might somewhat resemble a dulcimer. There could also be a giant roll-up keyboard that could be played with the tires, or xylophones or marimbas that can be struck with hammers mounted on hubs.
Other things that don't require fingers, just something to hold it - syrinx (pan pipes), harmonica.

There's a new paperback out titled "Blue Ramone" and in one of the illustrations, Ramone is shown painting himself with a spray gun that's mounted on a stand, much like a hairdryer stand. I imagine with his hydraulics, he can angle up to get all parts of his body painted, and he holds the spray gun for other customers like he was shown doing in that one Opel commercial.

That begs the question of how he does complicated stuff on himself, like pinstriping, masking and so forth...

Maybe he does it while standing in front of a large mirror, like the ones in Luigi's store.
