oh well..as in what doc says about the piston cup "that it's just an empty cup" the oscars are just "a piece of metal given by a few minorty" they should have it that us in whole(everybody who watched it..us the people) should vote on who's best..

I can't believe Cars lost, that was a total utter shock to me! To tell you the truth the whole Oscar's awards show was a shock to me, why did Al Gore have to be there? He alrady ruined the grammys he didn't have to ruin the Academy Awards too! Well that's my blunt opinon about it, to tell you the truth the reason I think Happy Feet one was because of Al Gore, just like his song one over all three of those amazing songs from Dream Girls...It's scary what the world's coming to... continuation of my rant: www.gaiaonline.com/journal/index.php?mode=view&p=8276782

Again, I think Happy Feet deserved it. I like Cars more, but Happy Feet is undeniably better, in my opinion.
And I don't think Al Gore rigs the awards animated films recieve.
"It's a conspiracy, maaan!"

I was so shocked that Cars didn't win. I couldn't imagine why it didn't, but I hadn't seen Happy Feet, so I rented it just to be sure. Let me just say that I was not impressed. At all. I think that Happy Feet was purely global warming propaganda and had absolutely no depth to it. Sorry, but it was awful. And I ain't just sayin' that 'cause it beat Cars I'll end by mentioning that a previously-used storyline is better than no storyline. Disagree with me if you want.

I liked it a lot when it first came out, but now that I've seen it a few times I realized that however stunning the animation and songs are - the story was totally weak.

LOL it's funny how some quote "Happy feet is TOTALLY original"..it isn't...it's just like Rudolph..only with over-fishing XD There isn't anything overly original about it, no. If you've seen either the Pebble and the Penguin or Scamper the Penguin, you know that the orcas and leopard seals have been done to death in penguin movies already. And also penguins had become a trend when the movie came out, thanks to March of the Penguins and some other penguin documentary. Singing and dancing animals isn't new, the outcast who is different but saves everyone isn't new . . . the movie would have been a lot better if there was more character development and a more basic story. The fact that the story and the location jumped around so much left me feeling like I was watching the story, not part of it. I know when you watch a movie you're just doing that, watching it, but I think the mark of a good movie is when you forget that it's not just a movie, and you get so involved in what's going on that that's all you're thinking about. I still think the animation in the movie is stunning. The orca and the leopard seal, even if they've already been done to death in penguin movies, were so well animated it made my jaw drop. And I loved some of the musical scenes. But yeah . . . I don't like it nearly as much as I did when I first saw it. After I watched it again and had gotten over how stunning the animation was, I realized how weak the story and the characters are. Good message, though.

Another reason I think we were theived out of the award is that....HAPPY FEET IS 100% MOTION CAPTURE! Cars was 100% free-hand animated!
For those who dont know what Motion Capture is, it is when they film actual people performing scenes with special suits on with balls at each of their joints. They then take what they filmed and slap the animated characters over the ball points .... its cheating of all sorts. Yeah, it gives the characters more real-life feel...but whats the fun in that?! ITS NOT REAL HAND-DONE ANIMATION! It takes FREAKING SKILL to hand animate CGI...and thats what Pixar does...and no one else does to the scale of Pixar.
....freaking Pixar wanna-be's. >.>

Theres too many penguin movies, Angry Video Game Nerd even ranted about it XD. Happy feet, March of the Penguins, Surfs Up, Madagascar. Cars was original since there are no other movies with anthro-vehicles as a major part of the plot( Apart from Brave Little Toaster but even then its only a small bit) in there own little world with no humans. Even in talking animal movies ( Bolto ( sp?), Stud of the Similon, GDW, etc) there are humans about. I think they bribe at the Oscars anyway and its not a people vote is it? They have judges? Happy Feet was to fluffy for my tastes... but the 34 of it is lulzy

ohh..they got 34 of it??? *goes to look for laughs*
and yeah..it's only some lame ol' guys that vote for the movies..not us people who watch it and crap..so technically...Happy feet isn't the animated best film...Cars would be..cause before the oscars..most everybody, people, animators, directors..all pointed at Cars..but when the oscars unfolded..everybody was moreless like "Well congrats happy feet but WTF??" xD
damn it;s like that everywhere..so it was obvious who would have REALLY won it if it were our choice..and not the extremely tiny minority...

Funny how all the other animation studios have become lacklustre, greedy, and/or just plain lazy. Thank God for Pixar, because they take the time to make a good movie and they don't skimp on anything. They make excellent ORIGINAL films, and always have. The plain and simple fact is that Cars should have won that Oscar. The system is rigged, people. That's the sad truth. And that's freaking democracy for you.
