I have about four full-length movies on my computer at the moment. Cars is one of them, widescreen, subtitle-free and as yet unused. I would like to make a few music videos featuring it, but I must admit that I am stumped for ideas right now. Anyone have two cents? A theme they'd like to see to a particular song? My YouTube account can be found here if you wish to see my editing in other subjects. My Cars-themed "Dragula" vid is still up for viewing.
In honor of the one-year anniversary since opening in theaters, here's "Cars" to Cotton Eye Joe. Let the mayhem begin. It may not be available at first, as YT has to process it. At most, the wait won't be any more than an hour. Just keep checking the link. youtube.com/watch?v=Ykee0rn2xII

I'd love to see a Cars Music video to the song "Cars" by Gary Numan. I was originally planning on doing one, but judging by my schedule (and considering I'd have to take the video shots I'd need by recording the movie on my digital camera) I probably never will.

As soon as I find an MP3 of that darn song, it will be made into a music video. Must search a little more thoroughly...
In the meantime, I have a treat set to be released on June 9th, to mark Cars one year anniversary of premiering in theaters, as a little fun tribute. I'm going to be secretive for now. You'll know what song it's to when I post it at my YouTube account.

I actually have that song, if you need it...

If you could send it, I'd definately appreciate it. Although the lyrics are simple, if I could hear what the song's melody is like, it would go a long way into planning on making a MV for it.

I'll send it to you via e-mail tomorrow, when I'll have easy access to the file and when sending it will be much faster- I'll be on the college campus and their internet is a million times faster than what I've got at home. I wrote a little bit of what I had in mind somewhere... I'll link it here as soon as I can find it. EDIT: Found it! reijimitsukai.livejournal.com/16001.html#cutid1Number three on the list.

Got the e-mail and now that I've heard it, I realize I've heard the song before. The GTA: Vice City video game - one of the radio stations played it. I think something can be done with it. I'll have to experiment for a while and see what works. And I'll definately use your suggestion as a reference. Thanks very much for the MP3.

Forgive me if I've asked this before, but what DVD capturing/editing software are you using? I had one a while ago but it was slow, huge, and I lost it while reformatting my PC. I want to make more cars AMVs, but I don't have the software to do so.

I used the free trial download of Magic DVD Ripper. It's a nice, simple program that gives you five uses before, unless you buy the full version. It can handle full-length movies, but you'll need a couple spare hours to let it do its thing. When it's at work, all other processes slow down something awful.

I thought I was the only one experiencing those symptoms. But yeah, Magic DVD Ripper is pretty damn good. (But I think it's because it changes its own process priority to 'High'. I guess you can disable that.)

See original post for a link to a new Cars vid. It's more for fun than anything else, so please don't take it too seriously.

Hah! That's great. XD Sound, Video, everything synched gorgeously. And funny to boot. Seriously, you make the best Cars vids. Can't wait to see more! (when time permits, of course)

The bits with Mater in the beginning were so great! And Stanley's landing was timed so perfectly!

You did a great job on it! You said you chose the song more for its beat than its lyrics, but I think it matches both ways. I like how you synched the stuff like the three trucks on the highway with the sound effects in the song. WOW -- again, that's the best.
