I've been working on this for some time, typically with long breaks inbetween every three chapters or so due to excessive schoolwork or a music project or research paper. You get the idea...
Anyways, the subject is built off of the film's mention of a 'European Circuit' and my growing enthusiasm for Formula One and NASCAR as the days go by. Lightning is invited to an invitational series in Europe, starting out at Monza, Italy (known for being the F1 GP 'capital' of the world) after the end of his second (known from the game as his first winning season) Piston Cup season. But, of course, this is not all that I'm writing about.
The true vision is for this work to be a spiritual successor to the film, unlike about 95% of the current FFnet fiction currently out there. I lend to the senses (much more efficiently in later chapters) and thoughts to give a clear picture of what is going on, much like the level of detail the film exhibited in regards to animations, expression, landscapes, light, color, dialogue, et cetera.
So, Lightning's not the only thing going on in this fic. There happens to be the sudden appearance of a wrecked Corvette in the middle of the Cozy Cone in the middle of all of this. Not giving details away, this and a few other sidestories of Radiator Springs are playing out in the wake of Lightning's race and Sally's discovery.
(A final note.... Time-sensitivity has been a big deal in this first section of the fanfic because of the parallel storylines, but it will open up at the conclusion of the race. I don't expect it to be so time-driven for the next race, but it'll be there.)
