I generally don't speak up much on the particularities of rules, preferring to be the "Sleepy tire of the law" in this village. But, now and then, I have to face up to the responsibilities of administration and this is one of those times.
I'm not going to name names, but I have seen some regrettable scab-picking and button-pushing taking place here and there. I wish to make the point that the cumulative effects of rudeness and lack of consideration can be more destructive in the long term than a riot; to paraphrase Robert Heinlein, it throws sand in the gears of social mechanisms that never work all that perfectly or consistently to begin with. There is a line between honesty and candor, or mere artlessness, and lack of courtesy. Therefore, I ask that you think over what you have written before you post it, and ask yourself if you would say this out loud in daylight to your family and friends. Common sense is a good thing, please use it!
