I don't read LiveJournal and I don't waste my time there. Any journal entry that I've ever written is on DA.
And I meant an animated TV series.
==============================================
Back to my irritation at the Transformers fandom...
Oh, any TF fan can adore the fandom, and I'll leave them to it, but don't ever talk to me about it. It's always been a crappy TV show anyways to me.
But, those who had been fans of Cars are now Transformers fans and I feel that I've lost a couple of friends because of that damn fandom. They don't even give me the time of day anymore. That's what pisses me off.
Now Go-Bots. That was a classic.

Big Bad Beetle Borgs. WhooPowerRanger spinoffs!
It wouldn't surpise me if I'm the only person on the forum that's seen that show.

You aren't the only one who watched that along with the Rangers.
As for the Transformers fandom. I was crazy for it back in the day. Now, its like how I feel about Star Wars; have the movies and a few toys. But still crazy for Cars.

I just need to get all this frustration out of my system.
My brother was the one who like Transformers and Star Wars, I just went along with it until I got bored with it. Now I'm a fan of various kinds of anime (Sailor Moon, Naruto, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, etc. : at least those had any kind of decent storyplot, which IMHO, was better than Transformers and Star Wars combined. More characterization.) Transformers had bad animation, stiff voice-acting, and a terrible plotline which was, in my opinion, entirely overused and not as exciting anymore.
It just irritates me to see all this TF fanart on DA from those who had once been Cars fans, but are not anymore.

I will admit, you have a point, people doing that are just trying to look liek they are 'in' with the new movies, TF looks awesome, just because it has a Camaro, but Cars is where my heart is.

yeah..Cars too is in my heart..but your gonna have to get used to that "fandom change" i admit..i did a few times..but it wasn't when something was "in" it was when something caught my temporary interest..luckly..i always was interesting in living cars..and always waiting all my life for a movie like this..so it holds a special place for me.. but..this happens with every movie..not just Cars..i just ignore it all..and pay attention to the art i'm interested in..

I do ignore it, but it just hurts when people tell me that they're my friends and are interested in what I'm interested in... And then suddenly turn around when they find a new interest and pretend that I don't exist or that they've never met me.

Some people are just superficial like that. At least that'll help you find out who your real friends are.

Some people are just superficial like that. At least that'll help you find out who your real friends are. Yeah, I'm weeding out the fakes. And my real friends are here on this forum, as I've noticed... although I still have a few true ones on DA...

aww..i'm friends with a buncha folks on DA that are interested in things i'm not..i only "abandon" them when they do the same...i dunno why i do that..but i'm not the "clingy" type at all..but still..i love having close friends..and i love talking to them even if their artwork doesn't interest me that much..same with them.. i have to say though..i had some friends who simply abandoned me even when i drew the stuff they were interested in..i guess they were bored of me..

Da is an art site, you are competing against others for pageveiws and stuff...hence the drama. And I agree with all the Transformers stuff from Cars fans, its like... the new thing but I'm not following the sheep... the movie was good but.... I dunno, not really uber awesome. Its unfortunate that, if you follow the new thing ( e.g. harry potter, transformers) then if you arts good enough you can get a lot more pageveiws, but being unique in what you draw.... you have to draw REALLYFRICKINGAWESOMEGOOD to get anywhere.

LOL DA is truly an "olympics" in some way...
yeah i agree...it seems that everybody that draws extremely popular things like you said....gets the most views..
i have to admit..i'm not bragging or anything..but i believe i've done well considering i draw horses/cars..and got where i am now..i'm not talking about the pageviews though..cause pageviews..are just..well..pageviews(though it is fun to look at) i'm talking about the comments and stuff..
..but you know..it took me over a year to get noticed..go back into my gallery..i was so happy to get at least 2-4 comments in 2 days..and a few pageviews.. it was then when i started to put my horses up folks started to come to me..it just built up there..and i'm happy cause i enjoy horses..i guess you can say i was lucky...i just drew what i liked and how i liked..and folks pointed out how distinctive my styling is in both cars and horses..from the stuff i here..my wierd ways of drawing attracts folks..not just in DA...and i didn't have to draw "anime/naruto/harrypotter" or extremely popular stuff to get where i am..i'm not trying to brag at all..i'm just saying what i think and observed..other folks might think differently.... *gets shot*
some folks will follow anything "in" to get more attention..i just draw what i like...personally..i don't care for anime or harry potter cause it's so d@mn popular..it's..EVERYWHERE..like a disease...and the most popular deviants on there..draw all this.. i looked on the today page..and the most popular deviant everyday is a very very obsessed snape lover..i mean OBSESSED..figures..

Well, I like both Cars and TF. Concerning the DA thing, it is really not about the pageviews, many pageviews does not mean that this person is an uber awesome drawing - god (well there are exceptions). The pageviews have become to be something like a level-thing and I don't think that this is right but you can't do nothing against that. I have got over 50.000 k views now but when you look at the timespan in which I got them it is not extreme much, other people get 1000 and more views per day. Oh and if you really want to get lots of faves and comments, draw canines or cats (the people just like these) or make useful tutorials.

Last year, Car's was Transformers. Though I do tend to miss the hype you get when something just comes out with everything with the massive lag from when what ever is released in the US to when its released in the UK...and its difficult keeping up when someone you knows more interested in something you have wait a month or two to see or get.
Though the fact people are losing friends over a change in interest of film...In March I started to lose interest in Car's but 5 months later I'm still in contact with friends I made through the Car's fandom, even traipsing around C.London in the pouring rain to meet one of them back in May. Plus, I'm not gonna let something as simple as a movie ruin a friendship with someone lol
