A direct-to-video release being produced by Disney Toon Studios as a Pixar lookalike. Expands the Cars universe at any rate. What do you guys think?

I hope the quality will be comparable to the Pixar products. The cropduster looks like a real sweetie anyway.

The animation had me fooled at first. But who knows? It could have an appeal of its own - not quite Disney, not quite Pixar. In any case I'm curious to see how aircraft society will be portrayed.

I don't think they'll have any gin joints, gambling or ex-call girls in it XD

Such are the drawbacks of a kid-friendly movie.

I'm definitely excited for Planes as well as Air Mater when it comes to the depictions of aircraft society. However, I worry that Disney is taking a unique Pixar-esque world and turning it into another merchandising opportunity. Rather than get myself worked up about it, I'll probably just end up clearing more space on my diecast shelf and then buy it the day it comes out. EDIT: Am I the only one who noticed that both these guys have skull-and-crossbones designs in various places on their bodies? Is this why there are no humans in the Carsverse?

*finally notices*
There probably isn't any hidden meaning other than it's there as a decorative decal. I wouldn't put it past some unconsidering Disney concept artist to not think those kinds of connections through. Maybe it's a nod to the Jolly Rogers.
