So I was talking to my mom the other day and she said that she saw a nice-looking bolt of fabric at our local WalMart that had the characters from Cars 2 on it. That got me to thinking about making a quilt out of that fabric.
Though first I have to see what the fabric actually looks like before and plan out how I'm going to do this before I start working on it.

Sounds like a good idea. Reminds me to continue that cross-stitch I got sitting at home, and another I 'inherited' from my grandmother.
As you said, seeing the fabric, plan, and then buy is a good order to do it in. Buying by the yard instead of a whole bolt is perfect if Walmart offers that.

I have been collecting fabrics over the years and hope to do something similar. I say go for it, Ebz!!

My vote is YES, as well as major kudos for having the patience to do it! Several years ago I got a huge bag of period-patterned quilt scraps from the organization I re-enacted with.
I still have a huge bag of scraps.

That would be majorly cool! Quilts take patience and skill to make but they're awesome things to make for gifts and pass on as heirlooms.
And a Cars-themed quilt would be unique.
