"It would be like disarming a bomb, painful and slow." Annalise frowned as she maintained a vise-grip on the catgirl. "Don't struggle, hon, it won't do you any good."
Bree was unruffled and unimpressed by Ian's outburst. "Nevertheless, that's hardly relevant to the fact that under the law, you are a minor in need of supervision. Liriel is not a minor, but hardly in her right mind right now. And don't waste your breath crying to me about cruelty and imprisonment until you REALLY know what that is."
Rihanna stayed quiet while Bree took Ian on. The helo woman was getting on in years, but her voice hadn't lost its edge.

Ian snorted indifferently. "You really never knew." He said and looked at her. He knew who she was. Who wouldn't? "My grandparents knew exactly where they could strike me without letting it raise any questions of responsible upbringing. They knew exactly what to say to explain my absence from school when they grounded me. And they knew exactly what to say to avoid suspicion when you, the almighty Bree asked them about me."
"Cruelty, check. Imprisonment, check. I still got a bigger dick than yours, try again."
Ian tried to ignore the words coming from the imprisoned Oka, and quickly simply went on top of the catgirl's back and held her hands. "What about her mind? Get Joanna back and make Liriel go away?"

Bree maintained a calm composure while dealing with Ian, resolving that she and Ian's grandparents were going to have a talk - a very LONG one - when she returned to the CV. She did not like being led around and deceived, especially where a child was concerned. It might even go so far as the resignation-in-disgrace stage, but that was neither here nor there now, with an angry teen on her proverbial hands. "No one can replace those years, Ian, but this entity is only using you for its own ends, and thinks even less of you than your so-called grandparents, even if you don't see it now. You left them to take control of your own life, but you've given your mind and soul to another force that's even more dangerous. What do you receive for your loyalty?"
"That, actually, would be easier." Annalise said to Ash, "But we have to get them apart first."

Ian felt several reasons surface to him, but he stopped himself from saying it. He wasn't answering back. The time away from Caesar's area of influence was chipping away at some of the ties Ian had. Not by much, but it was still less than before.
He had wanted to be independent and free. Caesar had prevented anyone to find him again after he had entered the human world.
Ian vaguely began to remember some of the plans he had made. Most of them foolish, and he realized he had never made any steps to fulfill those plans after meeting Caesar.
Ash looked up at Ian then down to Liriel. "Get them apart." He repeated, but he wasn't thinking about Liriel and Joanna. "Can you see if there's anything between those two? Maybe severing that might help us."

"What did you want to do when you left your grandparents, Ian?" Bree prompted him, in a somewhat gentler tone.
"Could be that Ian's carrying something that maintains the mental template this girl's carrying." Annalise said before turning to Rihanna. "You said he was virgin?"
"Yes." Rihanna nodded.
"That could allow any number of things to be worked on him." Annalise nodded. "Wouldn't happen unless he had a bit of talent or potential himself. The change of that status doesn't take anything away, it just closes off some channels that could be used as exploits, mind you, they could also be protected by other means."

Ian adverted his eyes in doubt and a hint of shame. "I wanted to be a game hunter." He said. "Or a relic hunter." The field made it hard for him, but slowly and steadily he slunk down, something that would have taken half a second instead of the several seconds he did.
Sandra looked at Bree. "We aught to lock his blades and muzzle him." She said low. "Just in case."
Ash looked at Ian and sighed. "Well, I haven't seen him alone, but I've seen her alone." He nodded towards Liriel who was still pinned down beneath him. "I got the gist that he hadn't been at the station, so he would have needed to forage, and that takes time I believe. So if they got something between them, it does not matter to physical distance."

"It looks like that." Annalise confirmed. "But even Ceasarion isn't perfect with his spellcode. He's made mistakes and oversights. Whatever they are, I'll find them. It might take some doing, but it's possible." To Sandra and Bree, she turned. "I can put a lock on his blades. He'll be able to flex them and be comfortable, but not spread them fully. And there'll be no biting if he hopes to get them off again, capeesh?"
"Sounds reasonable." Bree glanced back to Ian.
Rihanna looked back at Liriel/Joanna. "Don't waste your energy, missy. You'll just get tired."
The catgirl just glowered at her.

((I would imagine there is a type of restraint for helicopters, like handcuffs or boots.))
Ian glowered a bit, but seemed to resign. He didn't like the idea of a muzzle on him, and he understood the need for restraint.
"Well, you're already making some progress." Sandra said as observing Ian. "You can see this from our point of view."
Ash looked at the exchange and sighed. "How about her?" He asked Annalise. "How will we get her to co-operate?" It was clear that she was not really in the talking mood, nor ready to be reasoned with.

Liriel responded with a barrage of invective and magpie curses as Rihanna fetched something from Sandra's compartments. It was a set of flexicuffs that she immediately applied to the girl's wrists. "Thanks, Ash, you can let her go now."
"I've got a rotor lock from the sheriff." Bree said. "The local law won't have much to say about this as long as it's done quietly."

((Fever dreams can be all kinds of screwed up. I dreamed that my body was a police precinct and it was under siege. Yeah, real subtle there subconsciousness. And how far should Jonathan get?))
Ash went off her and hoised Liriel up on her feet.
Ian heard Liriel's protests as she was put up on her feet. He did his best to raise himself up, but instead of returning the expected resigned look, it appeared that he had steeled himself back. He felt like he had betrayed her earlier, and he had to repay her somehow.
"Not going to be that easy." Sandra shook her front.

Rihanna took a look at Liriel. "I wonder if it's actually her or just the template talking?"
"That we'll have to find out." Annalise looked the girl over carefully. Liriel was more dishevelled now, and those large violet eyes glared with a baleful light. She let loose another curse, a vile one. The 'shifter smirked at her. "Do you want us to put a gag on you as well?"
"Go #$%% yourself." Liriel snapped back, and attempted a kick that put her off-balance with both of her arms pinned behind her. She ended up on her seat again.
"You might as well stay there." Annalise went to assist Rihanna with the rotor lock, so that both could work without being affected by the field. Bree, Dmitri and the captain looked on, giving Ian a NO-FUNNY-BUSINESS look. They looked back at Ash. "Can you see that she doesn't try to run like that?"

"Sure." Ash said and pushed Liriel down on her chest. While not quite 'humane' treatment, he had better control as that. "Don't worry, I don't swing that way in case you were afraid." He said to Liriel as putting his weight on her.
Ian seemed to attempt to shy away from Rihanna, but the field made it hard for him. He couldn't even flick his blades in the condensed field. He could not do anything but accept the lock.

Annalise and Rihanna secured the lock and then cleared the zone. "OK," Annalise said to Ian, "I'm going to take the field away now. How you behave afterwards will have a direct impact on how much you will be allowed." With that, the moleasses dissipated. The adult helos looked on vigilantly.
Back of them, Danae sighed and lowered her eyes. What she'd had to do was necessary, but it still left a bad taste.
Liriel seemed to quiet under Ash's grip, as if finally accepting the current situation.

Ian seemed to lose his balance somewhat as adjusting to the much thinner air around him, inadvertively flexed is blades with a telling loud bang from the locks preventing them to be leveled, but immediately after he stood at attention perfectly aside from the blades' position, despite he had never been in the military.
Sandra looked over to Bree. It appeared his grandparents had taught him a thing or two.
Ash was relieved that Liriel had stopped struggling, and wished that she would continue to do so until she was in a secured room or something akin to that.

Bree's eyes met Sandra's momentarily, and she pursed her lips and nodded. This was going to require more investigation, certainly.
Beauchamps gave her daughter a comforting nudge, acknowledging that while her efforts helped bring about the desired result, it still brought little joy in the short term.
Rihanna and Annalise came back to Ash. "I think the fight's gone out of her now."
